UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Jim pointed out the unusual method of attaching a thermometer to the dash of this CJ-5. Does this have a rear PTO? I’ve never seen one covered quite like that.
“Original unrestored classic daily driver. 32500 miles rebuilt 2500 miles ago, original teal paint, stock bumpers front and rear, new tires, top, shocks, very solid vehicle, very little rust, some rust in tool box(see pic.) heater is not connected, speedometer not working now,but have new cable.garaged 37yrs.stock wheels and hub caps.”
Can someone tell me what that stainless steel? bracket is on the left rear of this jeep ?
My guess is it’s a gas can mount.
I think the bracket is for holding a jerry gas can or water can, but I have never seen one like it. Dave, I think they are covering up the license plate with black plastic. ?
Yes. License plate cover. PTO is much bigger.
Agreed on the gas can holder. Seems like a clever, compact design. Here’s a newer version, but same principle: http://www.carid.com/smittybilt-roof-racks/smittybilt-defender-rack-11047346.html
Yeah, the license plate cover makes sense. Just don’t usually see a license plate there.
