Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “6-cyl. Super Hurricane Engine 4-wheel drive. Converted to Brush Fire Truck from new by Howe Fire Apparatus Company in Anderson, IN. Model HRS-F No. 10249.
It is fitted with a dual snorkel front pump from Waterous Company in St. Paul, MN. Model No. CF-3 Serial No.17739, also with rear hose reel.
Included is a 1996 S10 Frame. Frame and A.Arms have been glass blasted. All brackets and welds are removed and ground smooth. Frame has been epoxied primed. Upper and lower A.Arms have MOOG brand bushings and ball joints.
New serpentine billet specialties along with vintage air unit. Never has had fluids in it.
305 Chevy Truck Engine with new gaskets and freeze plugs – 700 transmission.
Five (5) new steel wheels 15×8 and Five (5) new BF Goodrich Silverton 288/70/R15 Tires.
Clear title. Ready to sell – $20,000.00

“This jeep is a product of a two year restoration. It is beautiful, I need to bleed brakes from sitting and needs to run some old gas out other than that it’s mint as you see in all the pics. Everything works on this beauty. Take it to the parades ,add it to your collection, or just drive your grandkids around when they’re. “For Sale RARE 1 of 9 1962 Willys wagon traveller 2wd built for the Forestry Service. The price is $7500 or very close offer. The wagon has a good KS title in my name. I don’t have to sell it but I’m moving and probably won’t have time to get to it soon. The original engine, transmission, and shifter are missing and were when I bought it. If I build it I will change the suspension and drivetrain which really shouldn’t happen. The shifter in the pictures is just sitting on the floor and no modifications have been made. This wagon started out as a panel that was converted at the factory into the people hauling traveller that it is today. That is the reason for the rounded wheel wells. The paint is original and it is about as solid as it gets. I would say that the miles and interior are original. The spare tire mounts behind the drivers seat and the rear seats flip up and latch to haul other items. I bought from an estate years ago and I believe that the gentlemen likely bought it for the Forestry signs he removed from both front doors. The license plate on the back is Colorado 1970 and it was in place when I bought it. Let me know if your serious and have questions.”

“Originally a military Jeep, this Jeep was converted to a fire chasing Jeep by the Virginia forestry service and then finally used on a farm. This Jeep has the 134 cu.in. Hurricane I-4 engine with the original T-90 3 speed transmission and twin-stick Dana 18 transfer case. Jeep was converted to a 12v electrical system and has an electronic ignition system. Electric fuel pump installed. New wiper motor, master brake cylinder replaced. Jeep completely raptor lined inside and out and undercoated. Full roll cage with custom standup platform on rear. Custom rail road track front bumper and warn winch (part of the fire chase legacy). tires: new buckshot mudders, good luck getting stuck… New seats and harnesses. Blue tooth speakers and custom 360 degree led lighting. Clear title. This Jeep is not registered for on road use as it has been used on a farm in northeast Pa. Jeep is sold as is, where is.”

‘”This firetruck came from out west, it went tru an every nut and bolt restore. Everything on this jeep works and is included with the sale. It really belongs in a collection or in a fire department as a parade truck. It’s beautiful. It runs amazing and always starts. I will take muscle car, hot rod ,street rod etc trade but trades need to be worth 39/40k .”

Cowboy shared this photo from Scott Ingram, who built a Tiny Trash Truck out of an old DJ-5 (Scott operates a garbage collection firm in Paris, Illinois). I don’t see an obvious seat, so this may only be for show. That’s something I’ve never seen done with a DJ-5.
