(01/14/2024) I can’t imagine there are very man amphibious GAZ vehicles in the US. It sure does look similar to the Ford GPA.

Blaine spotted this cardboard-like model built to be a Ford GPA. The seller provides a variety notes related to it.

DESCRIPTION –
How unique is this?
A surviving BUILT WWII-era model … and not an airplane or boat.
And this model is hand-dated on the bottom: “DM Aug 13-14, 1946”.
It does not appear to be a Leddy (tires are different, also shorter and narrower), Mod-AC (longer than 7 inches), or RedYCut (longer than 7 3/4 inches) model.

Ron Fitzpatrick recently revealed two parts GPAs he apparently has acquired, which I imagine he will transform into one? Anyway, I wanted to highlight the green one, as it is one of the oddest modified GPAs I’ve ever seen. Likely from the 1940s, this seems a good price on an old amphibious model jeep kit. I have one already or I would buy it.

“Welcome welcome for sale we have a VINTAGE U.S. ARMY AMPHIBIAN JEEP WOOD AND PAPER MODEL KIT BY MOD-AC, CA.Also know as the quack! This model has been started and has a few broken pieces so please review the pictures I believe it’s all here and if your going to finish it I am sure you can fix those pieces”
These photos appeared in the Des Moines Register on March 17, 1943.
This news reel features three segments. The middle one is especially interesting as it shows Ford GPA Seeps zipping around a park in Philadelphia, then jumping into a lake.

This March 23, 1943, article on the “Seagoing Jeep” was published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram Evening edition.
