UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
(08/19/2014) Based on the steering wheel, I’d guess this has the Hudson steering upgrade.

This fellow was unresponsive when I politely inquired w/ a couple questions. Informed him I wasn’t interested in buying but could he help w/ a couple questions? No reply. Does anyone know if there’s any major prob w/ installing a 289 in a GPW? Radiator upgrade?, preferable tranny conversion?, steering rod clearance?, etc. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
There are a variety of issues to consider. Here’s a great article from Novak:

Much of it applies to the GPW.
Here’s a guide for a milder Ford install:

The one thing I don’t see mentioned is that the WWII frames in particular aren’t built for the weight and power of large horsepower engines. It can twist the soft frames. The axles aren’t very strong either, so you’d probably would want to update those as well. I would advise starting with a later model frame and dropping a flat fender body onto it (which is what I did for my build).
