Interesting structure (storage?) above the dash. It seems to be holding the windshield in place. It doesn’t have windshield clamps.

It’s literally logged thousands of miles throughout Nevada, Placer, El Dorado Counties and more. This is a turn key runner driver that is just plain cool. Willys Engine and trans, also Willys axles, but still plenty of cool Ford Script pieces like the seats. This rig has done a little of everything from daily driving duty to he Barrett Lake Jeep Trail. It runs smooth like a Singer and has never left the owner stranded. Pressurized cooling system, 12 volt upgrade, big brakes, and some other period correct mods. THE BODY IS AN AFTERMARKET ONE PIECE ALLUMINUM BODY MOUNTED ON A 1965 JEEP CHASSIS. (REGISTERED AS 1965 JEEP). TOTAL FRAME OFF RESTORATION FROM THE GROUND UP. WAY TO MUCH TO LIST, ONE YOU MUST SEE AND DRIVE.”

“1957 Willys 2wd civilian model painted like army jeep. Motor and transmission are from an S10 pickup and run excellent. I just put a brand mew carburetor on it. This is a fun parade vehicle. I would not use it as a daily driver due to no power steering or power brakes or heater or top. It will run 55 but they were not made to do so. As you can see these were very small, about the size of a golf cart. I have put over 1000 miles on it and it has been all fun. I have taken it on trails that 4 wheelers use. It has radial tires because the bias ply was scary driving. I have a clear ILLINOIS title . It is street legal. Working lights,turn signals, horn and seat belts.”

“Complete frame-off restoration in 2012 using an abundance of stainless hardware and body sealing. Resto work completed by experienced professionals back to original specifications except for upgrade to 1966 Dauntless V-6 engine with electronic ignition for reliable starting and operation. The CJ-6 is identical to the CJ-5 but has an additional 20″ in length added to the wheel base. This makes a HUGE improvement in handling stability and ride. Includes optional split windshield. Doug shared with me the windshield extension included by Sears when he purchased a soft top in 1971. So, if you see something similar, it was actually a third party modification!
He wrote, “Here are some pics of the windshield extension that came with the Sears full soft top that I purchased in approx. late 1979.I ordered the top for an MB/GPW, so it came with the extension. They sold the same top to fit a cj2a without using the extension. I remember going to a canvas/upholstery shop to have some help with the doors. For some reason I could not install the doors without some professional help. Can’t recall why.I got home late that night! I was 17 at the time.”

The windshield has an interesting mod. Lots of diamond plate.
“Replaced orig Flathead 4 eng with rebuilt 1973 Ford Pinto 2.0 L engine, and has orig 3 spd transmission and 2 spd transfer case. Has a 1500 lb wench on front bumper, and a full canvas top. Comes with a homebuilt 5X10 ft trailer for towing the Jeep or hauling trash to the dump. Used as a hunting rig until quads bought in 2002. Used to move toys around after that.
