Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “My CJ2A project, currently has no title, but I was in the process and will provide a bill of sale. Very good condition with not a lot of bad rot spots for its age. Ran not too long ago before I drained the fuel. Shifted and ran well, but it’s main issue is no brakes. The cylinders were bad and the lines may need replaced. Time for it is just one of those things I don’t have anymore sadly.”

Nearly stock VEC #12683.
“I’ve owned CJ-2A serial #12683 for a couple of years, and I enjoyed it. The serial number indicates this Jeep was built in the first few weeks after the end of World War 2, making it a “VEC” (very early civilian) Jeep. I think it would be better off with someone with the time to restore it.
Overall the Jeep is in good condition considering its age: it runs and drives fine, though the brakes pull to the left; I’ve checked the adjustment of the brakes, and it seems fine, so I’d recommend disassembling the front brakes completely to see what’s going on before driving it.

This VEC CJ-2A still has the column shift and is in pretty original condition. It runs and drives. Drive as is or restore. Includes parts for a rear PTO/gearbox.

Listed as a 1947, this appears to be a 1946 VEC CJ-2A. This has a BW overdrive. And, it might have the Hudson steering mod.

(08/16/2020) This may well be a 1945 2A. Someone switched out the column shift and it an incorrect dash plate.

This is a VEC with the rear hubs and early windshield. Plus, it has a rear PTO. This should go fast at this price. No title. Serial number #11854.
“I am reposting this Jeep. I have been educated a little on what I have. I got VERY overwhelmed by the amount of messages I received after posting yesterday. For all of you that are going to come on here and say I should have gone with the first person who messaged me, I honestly couldn’t tell you who the hell messaged me first. I got so many at one time it was unreal. SO I do not have the title to this Jeep #30 1946 CJ-2A Willys I don’t know if this thing runs. It was a family members that we had to pay for to get it out of the shop when he passed. There are 2 rust spots in the floor inside the Jeep. Has PTO Must either come pick up or arrange to have it picked up and delivered.”
