This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Scott shared these pics of this nice looking truck with a plow and wrecker. The owner’s family was a Willys dealer and apparently has a variety of vintage jeeps.

This is an extremely rare Canfield folding, PTO winch included and correct for the time. But not necessarily the right one for the Wrecker but no one will ever tell the difference as it is the same brand that Canfield used and the same capacity. Also included is the extension boom”

“1947 CJ2A Jeep, Original L4 engine runs great. Brakes, transmission, transfer case all gone thru. Floor pans and fender replaced, Many other items replaced or repaired. Includes a MU2A Braden winch rebuilt w/towing boom driven by pto on rear of Jeep. Jeep
also has rare heater. This would be great for lake cabins to aid in boat dock removal, farm use, great fun to drive. Ready to sell. $6950”
I like this brochure. It includes some nice visuals of the Canfield Wrecker stowed in the back of the truck and jeep.
UPDATE II: Still Available. This has rust in the cab corners and a sprung drivers door. There also no mechanicals for the boom.

6 cly flathead engine, 3spd transmission. Most parts are there but missing transfer case, PTO, and front hubs.
Truck has original vin plate.”

Maury spotted this one-off CJ-5 backhoe tractor combo. He wrote, “I was helping my brother in law pick up some car parts this past weekend, and ran across this interesting CJ5-based vehicle. It was made by the guy who owned the business that was selling the car parts, and he told me it was a one-off he created years ago in Michigan in the hope of successfully marketing it.
The CJ5 body was bought new from AMC separately, and installed on the heavy steel frame he created for it. He said the resulting vehicle was the only loader-backhoe he knew of that could go 80 m.p.h.!”
And it runs, too.
