“I’m selling my 1960 Jeep CJ-5. It is a 4 cylinder 3 speed stick and has the twin stick transfer case. It runs well, drives well, all the lights work, 4×4 works great, no heater, no radio… New seats, new windshield frame, new 31″ tires, top was replaced a few years ago… very solid Jeep. This is an old Jeep, which means no power steering, no power brakes, it is pretty much a tractor with a top lol. It cruises at 50 mph all day long and thats about top speed for these old beauties. ‘1953 Jeep CJ-3b
This Jeep is very original. It was purchased by me in Western NC from a man who purchased from the original owner. It was a farm Jeep and has very low mileage considering its age. I looked at 12 other 52-53 Jeeps before I decided to buy this one.
This is why I chose this Jeep:
The bad stuff:
typical rust, but not tons of it- most panels can be fixed easily as everything is flat
no top, but it does have the top frame, and one door
brakes need to be adjusted- the rear wheels lock up under heavy braking
the carb is new but it floods easily- I suspect the needle and seat assembly-some fuel lines need to be rerouted
typical decay of the original wiring harness
needs muffler welded on (I have a muffler)
brake lights are non-original and not working
seats need to be recovered
The good stuff:
it is 99% original
low miles 45K
the motor runs great
the differential works great
the tranny works great
the steering gear works great
the frame is solid
the tires are brand new (have receipt)
wheels were shot peened and painted with urethane (have receipt)
new front window (have receipt)
just about every part imaginable is available with a mouse click or a phone call
it just looks cool
I am selling this , because I have way too many projects , and this would be a great and easy project for someone. I have over $3000 in the Jeep. I will accept reasonable offers. I do not want any trades, as I do not need a divorce. Payment will need to be in cash.
( I am also selling a 1994 Jeep YJ with a 258, ps, pb, Sahara package, new sailcloth top, AM-FM CD, 7″ total lift on good BFG 33’s, Motorcraft 2100 carb swap–needs tuning, needs some work on the CAD front axle actuator as the vacuum nipple broke off $4 part—the paint is very nice with very little rust–witha few more dollars this could be a really nice Jeep—–$4200–I have $5600 in the Jeep—I’ll post pictures soon)”

(11/14/2010) “I have for sale a 1950 Willys CJ-3A in close to original condition. Sold with clear Oregon Title. This vehicle was in use by the Butte County Mosquito Abatement department in California since the mid-fifties. The last entry on the maintenance record shows 70,302 in 2005 but when I got it the speedometer head was frozen so Im not sure of the exact mileage. Since I have owned it I have put an additional 1,200 miles on a new speedometer. It always gets lots of attention and questions/comments from vintage Jeep admirers. The engine was replaced at 54,970 in June of 1972 with a CJ-3A engine #3J20172. The vehicle still retains the original 6-volt electrical system. Since I have owned it I have replaced the clutch, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, clutch linkage, fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel lines, and vacuum lines. The transmission and transfer assemblies have both been rebuilt along with the carburetor. I have replaced the center tie rod end assembly and rebuilt the drag link with new parts. I have installed new upholstery for the seats and backs along with new seat pans and seat belts. The canvas top and hardware will not be included as they belong to another project I have started. There are two areas where rust needs to be addressed. 1. The passenger side hat channel. 2. At the rear of the drivers floor area behind the fuel tank. I have replaced the tailgate and hood with new ones that have the Willys stamped logos. I’ve tried to be as complete in my description of this vehicle as I can and can honestly say it is a dependable vehicle. Please feel free to call if you would like to inspect this great little rig. It was running 30 year ago. It has been stored a while. It might be a good restoration project. This appears to have a Worman half cab.

(11/12/2010) Here’s a DJ-3A that is in excellent condition, though it has been updated to 4wd. The seller believes that there were DJ-3As with 4wd produced, but Bruce has told me this wasn’t the case.
“Unique little Dispatcher survivor in great condition. These vehicles were mostly all 2wdr units and only a few 4×4’s were produced, not sure if this is one or if it has been converted. It is in super condition to use as is or if a person was wanting to restore it, it would be a very nice little project. The jeep has all the correct running gear and it all works as it should. The transmission leaks at the front seal I believe, and needs to be replaced or keep a good eye on the fluid level. It also has new tires, clutch, shocks, brakes and wheel cyl’s. The roof on theses Dispatchers was not meant to taken on and off, so it is bolted on with many bolts, but could be removed with a couple hrs of labor. The electric winch on the front is super HD, probably overkill for this jeep, and it works great! The Jeep is also set up and wired for towing, pulls very nice, we towed it up and down the Oregon coast and had a blast on the beaches with it!”

“I’m listing my 1942 Ford GPW WWII Jeep. It was a complete frame off restoration. There may be 2000 miles on a complete rebuild motor. It’s coming all set up for the winter months. It has an early made Arctic top made just for the WWII jeeps, and I’ve installed a heater for the cold winter days. The drivers seat os adjustable so that big guys can drive it. I’m 6’5″ and would have had to drive with the steering wheel imbedded in my stomach. It has 4 brand new 600×16 military tires on it. A new paint job and a spare gas can that is dated 1942 to match the year of the Jeep. I’m asking $9000 to me it’s worth much more but with the economy the way it is I thought I would be realistic. If you’ve gone to any Car shows around southern maine you’ve seen this jeep with a big machine gun on it. NO the gun doesn’t go with it.”
There is some value and it looks pretty bone stock. I think it has a rear PTO.

“For-Sale 1946 Willys CJ2a Jeep W/Trailer. This Jeep was my father’s retirement project. It’s all original, transmission shifts good, runs good. Everything works. Has a white vinyl top, also has the rear bench seat. The only issue is the brakes, it has a nice high brake pedal but doesn’t stop very good. The trailer is painted to match the jeep. The trailer has a hand brake which works good also. The tires on the Jeep are good. I even have the original 600-16 tires for it”

Can someone explain to me why a PA title would need to be transferred at a messenger service (what is a messenger service)? The engine has been taken apart.
“1965 Jeep CJ-5A
Tuxedo Park Mark IV
This Jeep has been in our family for many years. The mileage is probably not correct but it says 22946. I was in the process of rebuilding the engine and restoring it. I have the head removed and valve/pushrod cover removed. Also various other engine parts have been removed and inspected to get to the engine. I have all the removed parts inside the Jeep. This Jeep has never been rebuilt prior to me working on it. The last time this Jeep ran was sometime in the 90’s. It sat in a garage until 2003. That’s when I brought it home and started working on it. Transmission is a T-90 3 on the tree. Engine is a Hurricane F-134, partly dismantled. I’ve included 24 pics on the site but if you would like more please let me know.
Please forgive me I’ve probably left out a lot of details.
