“WILLYS JEEP TRUCK 4X4 WITH PLOW REGISTERD AND INSPECTED RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD PLOWS GOOD ELECTRIC HYD. CONTROLS 6CYL. SUPER HURRICAN MOTOR 3 SPD TRANS”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on ebay.
This looks interesting.
“If you are on the market for a rare jeep you have found it. What I have for sale is a Canadian Titled unrestored 42 Willys that had been in storage for 50 plus years. Other than surface some rust the jeep is in excellent condition. The previous owner bought this jeep from the Canadian government in early 1947 and used it for a few years before putting it in storage. I was told by some experts that this is a canadian order jeep due to the lift rings similar to the marine corps jeeps.
The jeep comes with an original willys manual as well as a CANADIAN LOG BOOK of which a picture will be included. The log book has information dated back from Nov 1945 with the last date of Nov 1946. Log book data is consisted of tire record, oil change, fueling, repairs, accidents etc. This is really cool as I’ve never seen this before. At the top of one of the pages it is noted that the jeep returned to Canada after service in North Africa. The jeep does run and the previous owner had all fluids change prior to starting the vehicle after such a long storage. I do believe it to be a Canadian jeep as the log book clearly states Canadian on the cover and the rebuilt tag on the engine which is dated 1945 is also Canadian.
I was also told by some experts that the presence of the desert tan paint under the current paint is proof that the jeep was used in North Africa and it is believed that it might have gone through the initial rebuilt by the British army and then went to Canada. The engine compartment is very complete. The jeep will come with four original combat wheels and four brand new tires and tubes. As can be seen in the pictures the interior is all original with original seats and canvas. Original data tags are also present on the dash. The wood inside the front bumper appear to be the original piece as well as the front bumper. All floors, sides and rear panels are in excellent condition. Even the axe and shovel area that is usually really bad in is great shape. I was informed by another expert that some of the yellow marking on the front bumper is what was used in North Africa.
I don’t believe that this is a factory unrestored jeep but I do believe like some of the experts told me that it was rebuilt by the British or Canadian military at some point. I myself although not an expert would lean towards a rebuilt that was done by the Canadian military based on the rebuilt tag on the engine and the remnants of the lift ring on the front bumper. I hope to see this rare jeep go to a museum or a collector who will preserve it in its current condition. Please keep in mind this is an old jeep, I have described it to the best of my knowledge but I do recommend that all interested parties come and inspect the vehicle before bidding to make sure it is what he or she is looking for as sale is final. Please do all your research before bidding on the vehicle. You will not see one of these for sale anytime soon so do not let this one get away. If you have any rare prototype WILLYS MA parts I will take them as partial trade.”
This appears solid.

(05/24/2012) The pictures suggest it is a bit rough.
“Here’s a 1952 Flat fender M38 Willys, It’s an original, been used on a ranch to service spinklers and run all over the place, it’s never been restored or anything like that, it runs good –the transfer case has a issue and I picked up another one for it and started to change it out and hurt my back doing something else and now I can not work on something like this for a while. We are now moving and I can take it with us or sell it. I have all the paper work and the “pink slip”.
E-mail your contact information, put “Willy” in the subject line and include a telephone # so I know your not a spammer. Thanks”
UPDATE: Bob notes the jeep is the museum next to the ship and not inside the ship.
Bob took time during his visit to Alabama to visit the USS Alabama Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama. It turns out there’s a jeep in the museum next to this old fighter. If you have time, you might want to check out this unique opportunity to explore a battleship.
This looks like a good restoration candidate.

“1960 Willys Wagon
This is an older restoration. Original drivetrrain was replaced with a small block Chevrolet V-8 and 2wd automatic transmission.
Owner started a power disc brake conversion, but was not completed.
This jeep runs, drives and is driven weekly.
Recently, the interior was upgraded to newer, leather bucket seats and custom headliner.”
If the rust situation is minimal, this might be a good price.

“Jeep runs and drives but needs work to be streetable, was used for off road only. Solid body, has great potential for restoration. Presumed to be an amphibian at one point but has been changed over from a 24 volt to 12 volt system. Jeep has a clear title. Per previous owner…Willys VIN #’s were traced to San Diego being owned by an military officer and use in the Korean war. For more information please see contact information below.”

This looks like a solid M-38A1. It has some odd gauge behavior according to the seller.
“As I can tell, this is as close as possible to a 100% restoration of a military Jeep. I bought it about 6 years ago in this condition. The odometer had about 13,000 miles on it, but the speedometer cable was broke. I have since installed a new cable, and the odometer now shows 16,100 miles. This is a fun Jeep to drive and a head turner. I drive it in Veteran Day’s parades, and drive it to car shows within a 60 miles radius from where I live in Southeast Kansas.
It drives nicely for its age. I have recently installed a carburetor kit and points, condensor, and rotor. I have also installed new spark plugs and spark plug wires about two years ago. The oil pressure consisently shows over 40 PSI. Other instrument guages are erratic by working sometimes and not the other, even after I replaced the spider wire harness. Do not have the expert knowlrdge to troubleshoot this aspect.
The 24V generator works even though the guage does not show charge, and the water guage works that I had never had this Jeep over heat. The manual windshield wipers work, but again I could not troubleshoot the vacuum operation. I am explaining everything about this Jeep that cannot be seen in the accompanying pictures. The Jeep still has the 24V sealed system and all lights work properly icluding the instrument panel and blackout marker lights. Mechanically everything works properly and it starts right away even in cold weather.
I love to drive this Jeep whenever weather permits. It has always been garaged since I owned it. The body is very straight and solid and the person who restored it did so with the correct paint and markings. No visible rust seen anywhere except under the passenger seat whre some minor rust shows on a channel, but the rust contained and painted over. I cannot arrange for shipping since I live in a small community which is not exposed to adequate services. I am willing to deliver the Jeep on my trailer within 100 miles radius of Iola, Kansas.”
It’s a bit rough, but quite stock. I can’t tell how deep the rust is.
” OK, here it is again: Here is a 1953 Willys Jeep. The Jeep has been in my family for the last 60 or so years, and has been parked in our barn for probably the last 40. I had the Jeep running about 16 years ago and was able to drive it around. I kept it running for about a year, then lost interest in it and parked it back in the barn. When I did have it running, it ran pretty well and did not smoke. All of the gears worked as they should and the 4 wheel drive worked amazing. I never did get the brakes working. Unfortunately now the motor is locked up. I did try to free the motor up by pouring kerosine in the cylinders and trying to turn the motor over, but it did not work. When I got it running 16 years ago, the motor was locked up then and I had to take the head off and let it soak with oil. I cannot guarantee that it will work again, but that’s how I got it free. It has some rust and the passenger floorboard will probably need replaced and a couple of holes below the doors, but most of the body is solid. The tires do hold air for at least a couple of weeks, but they all have very slow leaks and are dry rotted. Anyone is welcome to come and inspect the jeep before bidding.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
“What you are looking at is an original 1952 Willys M38 (MC) military Jeep. This Jeep was used during the Korean war era. It was a Barn Find! I found this Jeep in a country barn back in the woods of Florence, MS. I am the second owner of this Jeep. The Jeep has been motor-pool restored and is in near perfect condition. It is all original with original 24 volt system. Correct lighting including blackout. I installed a left hand tail light on the right side to make it easier for other drivers to see for safer driving. Drives great. No bondo. All metal. Original bows and all. Fuel gauge is not operational and needs windshield wiper blades. Four wheel drive works as it should! It could use new tires. NDCC military non-directional tires can be bought from generation jeep’s web site for $80 a tire and the spare on the Jeep is ok. It currently has coop grip spurs on the original Willys rims. Clear title. It is a hop in and go original piece of U.S. history. All you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. I will repair anything that may need replacing for a 6 month period as long as the Jeep and the parts to make the repair are both brought to me to do so.”
UPDATE: This was on eBay. **SOLD**
“Selling a very restorable 51 Jeepster. This vehicle has been in storage for many years. The gas tank was removed before storage and is clean and dry. I did have this Jeep running off of a gas can and it runs well and holds good oil preasure and does not overheat. It does have an overdrive transmission. As you can see in the pictures it will need to be restored but is complete.
The floors on the driver’s front, right front, and right rear were repaired and welded in. I have removed the seats so you can see what the floor looks like through out the entire vehicle. The frame and the rest of the undercarriage are in good shape. It has been repainted but does not appear to have any rust bubbles or filler poping out. The right rear fender will need some work as it looks to have been bent and pulled back.
UPDATE: Still Available
(12/13/2012) This looks like a nice rig.
