1951 Fire Truck Blitz Wagon **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: Features, Fire/Police/Industry Vehicles, Willys Trucks • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: This Fire Jeep Blitz Wagon sold for $14,805 on eBay.

These trucks were made in old forge ny by two gentleman there. Army Armstrong who is since deceased and Al Brussels who still resides in Old Forge, NY. They were made on multiple chassis but the earliest on the jeep chassis. The brand was “blitz buggy” fire apparatus . Not sure why or where that blitz wagon decal on the one listed came from. Many variants can be seen in the old forge fd 100th anniversary book as they were commonly demonstrated at old forge drill school which still exists. A similar picture and some history of the sister truck is on the cj3b page as bill Meyer tells the story of how he obtained his.” (read more about these trucks at the bottom of this post)

This same truck was auctioned back in Sept 2013 on eBay, but didn’t sell:

“3/4 ton class fire truck. Truck was used in the Alcoa Aluminum plant in Badin NC. Truck has siren, red lights and water pumper. No collision damage. No rust through. Body is in very good condition.

6,048 miles. The vehicle does run. It was last driven in Christmas parades several years back and has been in dry storage since. It will need some tune up attention to drive. Fluids are still in the engine. The carburetor may need to be cleaned and the fuel tank may need to be cleaned. We believe the tires are original.

It is original 6 volt.
Estimate 300 gallon water tank.
2 manual hose reels with hose hannay.
2½” fill line with hose
2½” discharge parts
Water pump is PTO (operated under water tank)?”

UPDATE V: This scam disappeared from the world, thankfully.

UPDATE IV: After being deleted this is back on eBay again. A bidder decided to bid $50,000. Someone’s playing with the seller.

=====================

UPDATE III: Mike alerted me that some of these pics are now on an ebay auction. Person selling it is listed as brand new profile on Jan 19, 2014. I see no reason to doubt it is still a scam. It has been reported as potentially fraudulent.

================================

UPDATE II: This scam has appeared on Craigslists. Lance forwarded pictures he received from the scammer.  There are 17 total.

UPDATE: John looked into this scam and received the following email. It appears this seller is likely running the Google Wallet Scam (which I’d never heard of).

I am glad that you are interested in my Jeep Willys . It's a Orig Matching #'s Jan 1943 Ford GPW Army Jeep Willys Military .
This jeep was completely taken down, sandblasted, and all of the rust was cut out and replaced with new metal. This jeep has been completely gone threw. The engine, T-84 transmission (gear box), Transfer case, breaks, steering box, Axles, starter, generator, Radiator, Carter WO Carb, voltage regulator, water pump and distributor have ALL been rebuilt by professional shops and receipts can be provided for all parts. The engine has a two year warranty.

The Firestone tires, wiring harness, spare data plates, gas tank, tail lights and horn are all new replacements and are 100% correct. The jeep is still its original 6 volt configuration. The seat covers are new . All of the combat rims are strait originals. The battery is brand new and this jeep starts, drives, shifts and stops with no problems at all .

I legally own a clear title, free of any liens or loans, under my name. Not interested in a trade and my final price is $4,500.

Just want to sell it ASAP, I am using Google Wallet as my ex-wife suggested, she also sold her car, without any headaches!
First of all please let me know where are you located ?

I will also need to know if you require a loan ? Or the funds are available ?

============================

This scam is back. I found ads in several places across the US yesterday.

1946 CJ-2A Danville, VA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,000.

“My 1946 CJ2A serial # 57110 was purchased new by a farmer in a neighboring town and used on the farm until the belt broke. When I bought it, the broken belt was still hanging on it. It had 12168 miles on it. It had been parked under a shed with the front end exposed to weather. The front suffered a lot of rust, but the rear half was in good shape. I rebuilt the engine because the valve guides were pushed out when I turned the engine. Number 4 cylinder was badly pitted. I had a sleeve installed. All pistons were unharmed and were reused. I installed all new bearings and seals, and it runs like a top. All brake components except linings were also replaced. I drive it a few times a year and it runs very nice at 45-50 mph.

This Willys has the agrijeep package with the governor, HD radiator, PTO, hydraulic pump ( not installed ) and Monroe lift. I also think I have a belt accessory attachment for it. There are several other items, including a rear seat, I have accumulated that I cannot remember now. It has never been wet, except when I washed it one time, since I finished it. It can use a little TLC from shop wear.

I had a custom wiring harness like the original made and added wiring for signal lights. It has the original 6 volt electrical system.

I am asking $15,000.00 for it. I got this estimate from a person who organized a Willys show 3 years ago. As I get older, I have decided to get rid of TOYS. If you are interested in a quality CJ, this is it.
