I’m sure I posted this one, but not sure what happened to it. Thanks to Dan for pointing it out.
“This has been in the family since mid 1960s. Yes, it is in pathetic shape. It underwent a hack job to make into a pickup. Still has some decent body panels. Last ran ~2006 after getting new (non-stock) wiring, rebuilt knuckles/wipers, a Chevy 305 V8, and a bell housing adapter. Still has original 3 speed with lever overdrive. A new gas tank was installed at some point. Not sure if this is a parts car or if someone wants to bring it back to something functional.
Body style is 4×473 SW.
Serial No. is 12123.”
UPDATE: A great press photo of the experimental Rolligon jeep (More info on the Rolligon from a 2013 post shown below). This just expired on eBay, but I expect it will be relisted. I’ll watch for it. There’s a long article from the June 04, 1955, issue of the Saturday Evening Post here.
“1953 Press Photo Man Driving Albee Rolligon Jeep Like Vehicle. You are bidding on an original press photo of Man Driving Albee Rolligon Jeep Like Vehicle. Photo has a small light crease left edge & waving right side due to too much glue being used to attach the information sheet onto the back of the photo. Photo measures 6 x 10 inches and is dated 3/20/1953.”
================== ==================
Originally published 2013 .. You’ll note the one pictured above seems to be the same as the one in the swamp, based on the hood number.
This jeep was built by the Albee Rolligon Company, which also built an FC version. William Albee, the inventor, has a son who rode on the FC version. You can see a comment from his son at hemmings.
“This is an original press photo. Credit- US Navy and United PressPhoto measures 9.25 x 7.25inches. Photo is dated –1953.”
The above pictures was published on page 165 of the March 23, 1953, issue of Life Magazine. You can view it in Google without the watermark. It’s still pretty dark. There are several issues of the magazine for sale on eBay. There is also a story about the roll-on in the September 1955 Readers Digest, originally published in the Saturday Evening Post (date unknown).
UPDATE: Still Available.

This truck has been shortened and had it’s top lopped off. And, it’s still a project.
“Selling our project, bought this 1953 Willy’s Jeep truck last year intented to paint it and drive it daily. But we have to many projects. It is on a early Willy’s Jeep frame. The guy we bought it from cut the bed down and made it a convertible. Every nut and bolt is new on this. No rust anywhere. Has a 302 out of a 1970 mustang needs a tune up. The wintch works. Has new breaks and a hydraulic clutch. New exhaust except one of the new mufflers needs to be replaced. Needs front shocks”

UPDATE: It appears this jeep has been re-themed into a resort vehicle.
This unusual ambulance jeep was shared on Facebook. I’ve tracked down an additional photo that shows it’s got a standard gas inlet on the side, so I think this may have been a CJ-3A.
This vehicle is located in Vincennes, Indiana (still there??). I’d really like some better photos of this. I’ll offer an Alaska Or Rust T-shirt and my everlasting gratitude if someone could get some more pics of this unusual rig.
That’s a bizarre grille. This may be a CJ-3A with a custom hood, cowl, and grille.
“I have a very cool 95% complete Jeep Willys it has a Ford 289 small block out of a Mustang it is the five whole block they only made it for two years. It also is a 3-speed on the floor four wheel drive. Does not run at the moment just needs to be tuned up and some time spent on it please call me for more”

(03/01/2017) Not stock, but I suppose it could be argued that there’s something original about this ….

Hmmm. Have we seen this one before?
“Runs ans drives. New brake lines.”

This photo was taking in 1951 and shows Bill Warren in front of his modified jeep. It looks like a simple convertible top is stowed on the rear of the jeep.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3800.
(06/19/2017) The Jeepney doesn’t run. The oil filter mount isn’t a triangle nor is it a circle. It’s an oval. What’s that from? It also has an interesting dash, too.
“This is for the Willys collector who thought they had everything. It’s an awesome project and you’ll be the hit of the show. Very complete and unusual. Does not run. Do not contact with offers to help sell. No trades.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
Lots of custom jeep here.
“Selling my 1951 CJ3A. It has been re-bodied out of aluminum, so rust will not be an issue. The frame is clean and this beast is powered by a 4 cylinder turbo Diesel engine. This winter the jeep received new BDS 3″ lift springs, a 4 wheel disc brake upgrade, Borgeson steering upgrade for improved performance off-road. The jeep has new plastic racing seats for easy cleaning and a removable steering wheel for easier entry and exit from the jeep. The jeep also has a set of new 31″ Lauflenn off-road tires. The jeep is very nice and only needs a new owner. I have a growing family and need a few more seats in an off-road vehicle. Price is $5000 obo. The only trade considered would be a Subaru Forester or outback.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
There are four different 2×2 negatives of this jeep from similar angles.
“Original Photo Negative from the Tulsa, OK area from the 1950’s. There was no information about the photographer, I figured out the location and era based on information in the images of the set I am listing together (Car tags and signs and recognizable landmarks) I have “inverted” the image, so you can see what a print will look like. The quality is fair to good, having some graininess. This is a good quality, albeit amateur image.”

(06/05/2017) Craig found this unique wooden bodied 3A. The seller has a sense of humor, calling the jeep “Termite’s Delight”.
“Take a look at this 1951 four-wheel drive Willy’s Jeep! Custom designed handcrafted wood body. Great show vehicle. Vehicle specs: 134 c.u. flat head, 4 cylinder engine. Runs good. Comes with canvas top and side doors. Also comes with a six foot steel plow, electric winch operated. Clean title.”
Seller dropped this ’48 body onto a Suzuki Samurai. The battery must be in the box behind the front bumper.
“I have a 1948 willys body stretched to fit on a 88 Suzuki samurai. 4 cyl 5 speed 4×4 with 143,000 miles. Was lifted about 5 inches. Brand new wheels and tires and paint, it is a rough texture bed liner paint. It needs some work here and there to be finished right but can drive. I put over 4K miles on it last year”
UPDATE: UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
Pics now provided. Interesting top. From the back it looks like a sears top, but the rest is custom.
(05/11/2017) Has an engine update. No pics provided.
