Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “54 Willys powered by a Ford 289. It has a 3 speed with a Dana overdrive, a new 4 core radiator and a new carb. It runs well and is a blast to drive. The rubber is in almost new condition and if you do get stuck the Warn winch will pull you out. It has a bikini top so if your going to drive it in the winter you best be a tough one. Give me a call if you have any questions.”

(03/08/2010) This has been nicely restored.
“This 1946 Willy’s is in grand condition and ready for the road, on or off. The restoration consisted of sandblasting chassis and parts, rust proofing, primer and paint. New parts include: clutch, shocks, wiring, battery, radiator, brakes & brake lines, gas tank, all gages, windshield, lights, jack, winch, & auxiliary tank. Original engine has been repaired and upgraded with a solid state electronic ignition. The undercarriage has been sandblasted and painted black. This vehicle looks and drives like new.”

1943 Willys MB Jeep for sale. The Jeep has its’ original body and components minus the windshield frame assembly. I’ve restored over 30 vintage Military Vehicles since 1993 and this is my 3rd WWII Jeep. This is one of my finest jobs if I can say so. I applied new techniques that I learned recently that added more detail to my work. I got the Jeep operational last week and it drives perfect at 55 MPH! As any other vintage restoration, there is always some minor tweeking and tuning to get things just right. This Jeep was rebuilt by the US Army at the Esslingen Army Depot in 1952 where it received a newer type engine since the older type had long been out of stock. There are a few parts that’re Ford script marked to attest to that point….. (much more of a description in the Ad)”
The dealer selling this CJ-2A has provided a large number of good quality images. This looks pretty solid.

“1963 Willys US Navy jeep, DJ3A, 25,000 original miles, completely restored, rebuilt engine, drivetrain, brakes, new tires, new canvas top/seats, hitch on back, new grey/black paint with US Navy markings on hood, jeep originally came from military base in Virginia, with original Navy Dept. plaque on dash, 3 speed column shift, NO rust, drives great, would be great for driving around, for showing, or for re-enactments. $12000 “
The seller says this jeep was bought in crates and put together in 1980. That’s certainly an unusual story.

(01/06/2010) “This is a rare 6 cylinder 1949 Willys Jeepster. The Jeepsters were constructed only from 1948 to 1950 and only made a limited number of the 6 cylinders starting in mid 1949. This particular car has been featured in an article in Open Road Magazine. The engine has recently been rebuilt and the rest of the car is almost fully restored. This car is a head turner. I can’t tell you the number of times someone has come up to me and asked what kind of a car this is and that they think it is one of the best looking cars on the road.”

“My 1962 semi-restored CJ-3B has a Kelly cab and Western plow. I have had this as a plow truck for a while and in 2002 I sent it off to ‘summer camp’ to get the minor body work done and new paint.
