(09/30/2012) The seller sugests this is a M-38. I’ve sent the seller a note about this.
” This is a 1951 Model U.S. Army jeep in excellent condition. I do not know if the mileage is original. This is one the last of the flat fender jeeps. Introduced in 1950 at the beginning of the Korean war. Only 45,173 were made. Production ended in Sept of 1952. NO RUST! Has NDCC military tires, Has the Willys L4-134 “Go Devil” 60 HP engine which was the original for this Jeep. 6 Volt battery. Installed front seat belts. The drive train is in excellent operating condition. Drive it anywhere at 40 or 45 MPH. It can be flat towed. No trailer needed. The windshield wiper on the drivers side has a motor that operates the wiper. Had to install that because the State Safety Inspector mandated it. The passenger side wiper is original manual wiper. Successful bidder will need to arrange for shipping, or pickup vehicle. Location is near Ogden, UT. Sold as-is, where-is.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6300

“While driving in Antioquia Colombia my dad found this electric Jeep. It is smaller than normal size and the owner (see picture) is asking for about $3700 US dollars. It is a pure home-made Willys. Only in Colombia!!”
UPDATE: Was listed on eBay.
(10/24/2012) This is a new knife, not a vintage knife. I’m a bit surprised at the price, which is $142 as of this post. But then, I am no knife expert.
“A NEW In The Box Case XX Amber Bone Trapper Knife with A Color Scrimshaw Scene that I have just finished of an old Willys Jeep and a fisherman sitting on his Canoe. I signed and dated this knife on the bottom right. A Certificate of Authenticity that I will sign and date will be sent with the knife.
Please Note: When I do Color Scrimshaw, I do NOT paint the color on top of the design. I re-cut every line where each color is to go and apply those colors down into the cuts. This is a very time consuming process, but one in which I feel the results are well worth the added effort.
I have, in my opinion, a very low starting bid with NO RESERVE, so you collectors can decide what this knife is worth.
The knife measures: 4 1/8″ closed”
UPDATE: Was ‘For Trade’. **SOLD**
This seller has not put the title into his name yet. This appears in good shape.
“I have a 1957 Willys DJ3A i would like to trade for a different project (i would like to get a 50s ford, chevy or dodge truck but will look at all), I have the original title in hand, i have not put it into my name yet because i was not sure what i was going to do with it and thought being the second owner of a rig meant something anyhow the Willys runs and drives, when i got it he started to convert it to 12 volt so it now runs and charges 12v but all the lights are still 6 volt so it will need to be rewired for 12v. it has min rust on the hood only the tub and rest of the body is straight with out rust. every thing other than the 12v system is original equipment. let me know what you have to trade, i would sell it but i cant seem to find a value on line for this to set a price so i will only trade for fear of getting the short end of the stick or giving someone els the short end.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
It need some hat channel work, but looks good otherwise.
“1952 M38A1 Willys Jeep military Jeep.. Not hacked or butchered / civilianized. Still 24 Volt with 2 batteries. Rebuilt motor. Runs perfect. Has some of the typical rust / rot in hat channels. Not quite up to motor pool specs but fine for riding around / mil vehicle shows / parades. Has original siren, radio rack, convoy light. bridge plate, tow rope, and front lock out hubs. I have new Jeep panels plus side / rocker panels, gas tank tub replacement sheet metal. Has winter top with doors and side curtains. Currently registered used / driven on a regular basis for shows and parades. Like the hot rod Lincoln , the brakes are good and the tires fair. Looking to get $6500 which is fair for its condition and with all the accessories. Send e-mail for any questions or to set up appointment to see / drive vehicle. May be open to swap towards WW2 Dodge WC/ Command Car or MB / GPW Jeep. Send photos of what you have and what your thinking.”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was listed at $5000.
With a flat, a lack of brakes and a broken windshield, this will need some work.
“It’s a decent truck that I don’t have time to finish. Starts and runs good. It would be driveable if it had brakes I haven’t had time to see what’s up with them. As you can see I haven’t had time to fix the flat on the front.
I have a brand new fuel pump for it that needs to be installed and both shifter boots that will go with it also. It has a clean title that is in my name. Feel free to ask any questions, or set up a time to come look it over.”
UPDATE: Still Available. Now on eBay

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay
(08/01/2012) This looks in good condition, though has a few unusual minor mods.
“Great condition, stock tall hood Jeep. Engine was rebuilt 12743 miles ago, and had a tune up about 200 miles ago. The odometer was spun back to zero when the motor was rebuilt. Shifts great, doesn’t pop out of gear like some do. Starts right up, runs all day and doesn’t get hot. Has brakes from a Gladiator truck, so it stops pretty well. Everything works. Very reliable. Hard to find defroster, Warn hubs. Top is nearly new. Tow bar, old school radio and speakers, brass fire extinguisher. Body work looks good from 10 feet, but has flaws. It’s not a show car, I drive it around town all the time. CA Registered to April 2013. It’s more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow. No reserve. Please contact with any questions.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $18,000.
This looks in good shape.
“1952 MB Willy’s Jeep for 18,000.00 Restored 8 years ago, approximately 100 miles since restored time, has all amphibious accessories for water crossing, Military radio, nice clean jeep, rust free. Please call for further question.”
UPDATE: Was $4400. **SOLD**
(07/25/2012) This looks solid. The hood scoop is unusual. This might restore relatively easily . I wonder if it really was an Air Force Jeep.
“1952 Willys Jeep. Good body runs and drives well. Very little rust a few dents but one of the better original bodies I’ve seen. Many new parts and some spares.”
Dan spotted this nice looking, stock wagon. It’s listed as a 1959 Wagon in the title of the AD and a 1958 Wagon in the body of the ad.
“1958 willys Wagon 6-226 4 wheel Drive. Super.
Hurricane inline 6 engine
Runs excellent. Ongoing Restoration.
All transmission, transfer case and Axle fluids Flushed and replace.
Over $8,000. invested.”
The seller claims this an unmolested CJ-3A. More accurately, it’s a M-38 that’s just slightly molested.
“WOW !!! Here is a hard to find unmolested all original 1951 Jeep CJ3A with only 12,396 miles on the odometer. The original soft top and doors will also come with the sale of this vehicle. This jeep runs and drives good but will need a brake master cylinder as it has gone bad while in storage. Come out take a look drive it around the yard and see what you think. I really think its worth your drive and time and doubt you will be disappointed. Asking 16K may consider serious cash offer made here in person. Tire kickers please don’t waste my time, serious buyers only as these original jeeps don’t come around for sale very often. call or text 4 zero 2 seven20-03one 0”

Steve forwarded this photo of a Mighty Mite at the Chicago Auto Show yesterday.
Coincidently, yesterday Ann’s mother saved part of an episode of Pawn Stars for me to view (Episode called PONY UP from December 2011), which included a man trying to sell a Mighty Mite to the Pawn Stars guys for $22,000. They offered $13,000 (based on their expert’s opinion). Unfortunately, I can’t find a free way to view that episode.
