Gus is a 1965 Willys originally from the south west, which means NO RUST. A retired man with a history in restoring military Jeeps saved Gus from the cutting torch. A few misguided teenagers concocted a plan to cut Gus’ fenders and make him into a “rock crawler”. Our retired friend couldn’t let that happen, and decided restoring and upgrading Gus would be a great retirement project.

“Rare 1953 M38A1. This is a military Willys. Hurricane with three speed. Runs well. has been garaged since I have owned it. I bought it in 2004 and have put less than 100 miles on it. I have replaced many parts. It’s been converted to 12 volts. Has the full top in good condition. Would benefit from another frame off. Parts are easy to find and easy to work on. If you are not familiar with this generation of “Jeep” this is a military vehicle from the Korean War Era. This is certainly a very clean and complete example. Clean title in hand. Won’t last. “1950 Willy Overland Jeepster, an older restoration done over 20 years ago but still looks nice. It runs and drives nice, except 2nd gear pops out of gear when you release pressure off the accelerator pedal. I am not a mechanic but I think it may need a clutch adjustment. Excellent condition top and side curtains, no holes or rips. Nice black and red exterior and interior. New tires with Willy’s hubcaps. Converted to 12 volt for convenience. Priced very fair for a collector and fun classic car. I will be posting pictures in a few days or so. No low ball offers please! ”

“1952 WILLYS JEEP. I AQUIRED THIS JEEP IN A TRADE WITH GENTLEMAN THAT HAD OWNED IT FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS AND HAVE A FOLDER FULL OF PAPERWORK OF THINGS DONE TO THIS JEEP.
THIS IS A 1952 WILLYS JEEP ON A 1962 MAIL CARRIER FRAME(WHICH I WAS TOLD AND DOING RESEARCH IS STRONGER). THE BODY IS ORIGINAL BUT EVERYTHING ELSE HAS BEEN UPDATED OR UPGRADED SOMEHOW.

This CJ-2A looks in good shape.
“For your consideration, a very nice and clean example of an early cj-2a.. appears to have been restored quite a few years ago, but I cannot be certain as to when it was done…. Actually the paint appears to be aged consistently, along with the original weathered oak hood blocks.. Seats are the original leatherette grey fabric , and are in nice shape, along with the original rear seat.
Frame is excellent, along with the bumper and gussets that are original to the jeep. There is no rust to speak of, besides some paint missing on the drivers flor due to gas being spilled there. Furthermore, there is mild surface rust on some of the underside areas, but thats to be expected with a vehicle of this age.
Looks good.

“Mint condition, 1953 Willys Jeep with all of the Army decals. You do not find an army jeep in this condition often. This jeep looks like it just came off the show room floor prior to going to a Mash movie. All stock except for the front wheel hubs. I drove it in the Daffodil parade and taken it to car shows. It is a head turner.”

“Frame off restoration includes: New suspension, Steering, Tires, Brake lines, Brakes, Wheel Cylinders, Master Cylinder, electrical and all components including lights, relays and switches. All body parts blasted to view, remove and replace any needed metal. New gas tank and lines. New gages and sending units. New water pump, fuel pump, alt (12v), carb, also radiator pressured checked and serviced. Original Go-Devil flat head four cylinder runs nice. Painted in military scheme and seats redone in canvas. Everything works including horn, dash light and heater. Many hours went into this little CJ and will make someone a nice parade toy or just to enjoy on the back roads. 1953 was the lowest production year for the CJ3A and NADA on a restored CJ3A is over seventeen thousand. “I am selling my 1945 Willy’s MB that I restored in 2005. Since the restoration the Jeep has been driven 3000 miles and is in perfect running and driving condition. Every part on this jeep has been replaced or re-built when the restoration was done.The only bad thing about the Jeep is that it has some minor bumps and minor scratches from being driven, stored , shows and parades. With that being said it is not a trailer queen I have enjoyed driving it every one of those 3000 miles. The only reason I am selling it is because I don’t have time for it and keeping it stored is not doing it any favors. I would love for this Jeep to go to someone that will use and enjoy it.The Jeep includes the working Radios, and plenty of gear to go with it to make it authentic. The DOD on this Jeep is 7/11/1945. The Body is a reproduction but the frame and most of the hardware is either NOS or original. This was an original radio jeep and the old body can be included with the sale if the buyer wants it. The restoration was photo documented and I have all receipts to show that I am asking much less than I have in it. The Jeep has a clean VA title and YOM license plate that can be registered to the new owner.”

I have owned it since 1986 but I don’t get to use it much anymore so I decided to sell it instead of letting it sit, when someone else could be driving it and having a good time. Hot August Nights is just around the corner.
Lots of updates. Looks like the body has been lengthened.

All steel body extended 6″ in driver’s compartment for additional legroom. Rebuilt 327ci Chevy with angle plug heads, Holley Carb with aluminum intake, fenderwell headers and Turbo 350 adapted to DANA 18 transfer case.
