UPDATE: Still Available.
(12/20/2014) Seller believes this is 1 of 300 Marine M-38A1s. While the Marine M-38A1s from 1960-1967 were slightly different from the standard M-38A1, I could not verify how many were ordered. But, I would think it was greater than 300?
“One of only 300 Vietnam era Jeeps made and issued to the U.S. Marines. Complete restoration last year. Motor, transmission, rear end completely rebuilt, as was the suspension, wheel cylinders and brakes. It has a new battery, military tires and wheels, custom camouflage paint job. Converted to 12 volt electrical system, has turn signals, oil pressure, temperature, voltage gauges that are new but look like originals, electric fuel pump. Snorkel and water fording custom exhaust. Best part is a Browning 50 caliber machine gun that uses propane and oxygen to fire up to 7 rounds a second. Was used by a funeral home in Ohio to lead in military funerals and fire a salute. Has a new military issue canvas top and a new rear seat for passengers. This jeep could be hired to local funeral hours at 300-400 dollars per hour for military funerals. I recently retired and am divesting of my 4 military vehicles and other equipment to make money to travel.”
