“Lovingly restored 1946 Willys CJ-2A. This jeep has been in my family since 1953 so it is with much deliberation that I have decided to sell her. Other project are waiting so my baby needs a new home. No expense was spared in the frame off restoration of this jeep. Every nut, bolt, bushing, wire, bearing, seal, tire, belt, and everything else was replaced. The entire tub has paint mixed bed liner on the bottom and inside the jeep, even the underside of the hood and fenders were coated. Cloth wiring harness and 6 volt system keep it original. Hand painted pin stripes on wheels.

“This is a great Jeep 4×4. You will not find many in this condition. If any! It has been completely gone threw. Just recently did entire new brake system, hoses, master cylinders, everything. Has been converted to 12V with battery disconnect. Electric fan for those parade days, etc. Heater, they were not standard in ’46. New tires, new top, has roll bar, trailer hitch. everything works. This is the first year the commercial model was available to the public after the war. No rust anywhere and everything has been undercoated so it never will. Showing on speedometer and title has 21350 miles. Has a couple small spots on paint but nothing big.Does have the doors just have them off.”

“The CJ2A was the very first civilian Jeep sold after World War II. This Jeep went through a three-year frame-off total restoration. Anything that wasn’t original was removed. My goal was to return it to what it looked like when it rolled off the showroom floor. I have owned it for 19 years.
The vehicle was completely dismantled. Original frame was sandblasted, primed and painted. Much of the original body was beyond repair, so those portions were replaced with correct reproductions purchased from a Jeep specialist in California. Original grill, headlights, turn signals, chrome headlight trim, bumper & tailgate were retained. The transmission and transfer case are original. The body was completely sanded, primed, and painted. It has NO bondo / body filler. The original paint color (Luzon Red) was found under the dashboard, and the Jeep was returned to that color with original color wheels. Continue reading
