Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This late ’50s CJ-5 looks like a great candidate to run as is. It’s got early Free-Lock hubs, an Warn Overdrive, and a PTO Winch. The body appears solid as well. The trailer has potential as well (if the bottom is good).

(02/04/2021) Mike spotted this CJ-5 with a myriad of updates. I don’t recognize the top; I’m wonder if it has been customized with extra large windows?
“I have owned this very unique 1955 Jeep for the past 40 years. It is very nice to look at, but it has been built to be used! You will never find another Jeep like this one. Load up your gear and you are ready to wheel.
Features include: Rebuilt 1976 Chevy 350 engine that was blue printed/balanced, RV cam, Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performance Intake Manifold, Hooker Headers, and Flowmaster mufflers.
It has dual Yellow top Optima batteries, power steering, power-assist brakes, Chevy SM420 4 speed transmission, 5:38 gears, T-18 transfer case, Saturn overdrive, Model 30 front differential with a ARB locker and disc brakes, Model 44 rear end with a Detroit Locker and full floater Dutchman axels. Also a MicroLock emergency brake, York air compressor, 12,000 Mega Wench, and custom black/green Imeron paint with gold striping.”

“Jeep CJ7 on Mattracks custom built to pull a fish house through almost anything. I am the second owner. Here is the description from the first owner who built it: I bought a late model jeep cj 7 frame with drive line from a friend. Put the 350 short block, differentials, and 4 speed trans in to this one. Plus a new power steering pump and built the cab. Bought a factory remanufactured engine from Dave Mosney Auto north of DL . The drive line is in real great shape. The trans and differentials had very few miles on them. I was very impressed with the performance of the whole rig. This jeep is a year around toy that is comfortable, warm, great clearance, powerful, super traction.” It has some patina but runs extremely well. Tracks are in great shape. Also comes with a set of tires. ”

UPDATE: *SOLD**. The jeep as a whole was sold back in 2014.
(12/28/2017) The hardtop looks to be an early Willys-Overland Worman-manufactured hardtop .. a very hard to find item.

“1949 Willys jeep hard top. No tittle, was left in my garage. Will need gone through. Started and ran on starting fluid. Has the 4 cylinder go devil engine. Looks like interior is all up in the loft and is included. Tires are shot, can deliver for the right price”

“This 1969 Mitsubishi J20C is a right-hand-drive Willys Jeep-based design licensed for production in Japan, and was imported to the US in August 2020 by the seller. The truck is finished in a two-tone gray paint scheme with a white roof over green vinyl, and power comes from a 2.2-liter inline-four paired with a column-shifted three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Equipment includes a pintle hitch, a heater, a Mitsubishi Electric AM radio, fender-mounted mirrors, driving lights, and 15″ Mickey Thompson wheels with 32″ BFGoodrich tires. Since importation, the seller performed an oil change, re-routed the fuel line, adjusted the timing, and replaced the brake booster. This J20C is now offered with a spare wheel and tire, import documents, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name listing the vehicle as a 1969 Jeep J20. more –>”
This appears to have. Koenig hardtop with a. variety of updates. It could have a military body and front clip. You have to scroll the through the CJ-5 pics in the ad before seeing this flattie in the pics.

“1956 Jeep Willys. V6. Jeep sat for 5-8 years, oil was clean, pulled plugs and there was water in the top of the pistons. Too much work for dad at this point. Pretty solid for the age.”

This looks in good shape. It has a Kelly hardtop.
“1965 CJ6 Willys Jeep. 52k documented miles, one family owned. The CJ6 was a California vehicle, no rust. Great survivor. Hurricane engine. Drives nice, new carb new ignition. All lights and electrical components work. This Jeep also has overdrive (6 spd) high and low. have 3 bins full of paperwork manuals and books, including the original bill of sale by grandma in 1965. Would be an easy restoration or drive as is. Best offer.”
