Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Craig spotted this running and driving FC with a dump bed.
“Putting my FC back out on the market. Here are some details.
Original L-226 super hurricane engine. It runs and drives fine, just needs the carter yf carburetor rebuilt. I have a rebuild kit that’ll go with it. It has typical FC rust on the cab corners, floor boards, and windshield frame. It has a hydraulic dump bed. Ramsey P.T.O. Ramsey winch (not attached). 4wd works. Text or call for any questions. 6,500 o.b.o utv trades may be considered.”

“Vintage Willys pick-up. Dump-O-Matic. Original Willys “Hurricane 6″ flat head motor, rebuilt 1000 miles ago with overdrive unit. Rust-free New Mexico truck. All gauges work except for odo.”
Steve spotted this unique dump hoist.
“Antique Dump Hoist For Willy’s Jeep Utility Pick up, 1/2 ton, late 1950’s to early 1960’s, with 226 inline 6 engine.
Had this hoist installed on a 1953 Willy’s Utility Pickup, Belt driven, with mechanical clutch.
Now the hoist is installed on a custom utility trailer built with a 1960 Willy’s Utility Wagon Frame and is operated with an electric power unit.
Have engine driven pump, tank, and hoist.
Have original manufacturer parts, installation, and instruction books plus some original blueprints.
The cylinders had to be replaced due to damage from moisture. The new cylinders are of the same dimensions and the cylinder bases were reused to retain the same mounting to the hoist frame.
This hoist will only fit the old style Willy’s Utility Pick up.
Cash is desired. Can arrange for shipping, but cost of shipping is above the asking price, and payment is required in advance.”

(12/18/2016) “Fully restored fc150 with custom dump body. Original flat 4cyl completely gone through. Have over $25,000 in receipts just for the restoration. Real head turner!! Make me an offer!”
Craig spotted this one. Might have some value, especially if it has dually adapters.
“Here’s something you won’t see everyday – a 1951 Willys pickup that has (we think) a 1948 Chevy dually diff with a pto powered dump bed powered by a ’50s Ford Flathead V8 engine. What a Frankenstein. We actually spent a lot of time rebuilding the carb and distributor and getting it all set up. Ran like a champ for about a minute until a valve stuck. Heads are currently off, but machined and ready to reinstall. To make it easier we got another ’50’s Ford Flathead that turns freely and ought to run that goes with it as a spare.
It’s as unusual as they get. Body is fair. This could be a great yard truck with very little work.”
