It’s not your everyday Willys Truck.
“this is a 1949 willys jeep truck , I have just lost intrest. everything you see was built about ten years ago. this jeep has a nova subframe, four link rear suspension with coil over shocks. i believe the motor mounts have been moved to fit a big block. the wheels are centerline warriors, the front wheels are new in box, also i have a new set of phantom autometer guages, and a new 16 gallon fuel cell with straps. all body work was 90 percent complete ten years ago. this jeep needs a new home and i need the extra room. this jeep would be a one of a kind”
After seeing some of the posts about the old Desert Dog and Bobcat ads, Jeff dropped me a note saying he’s been enjoying the old ads and old pics as it reminds him of the busy Northwest days of jeep clubs, playdays and racing in the northwest. So, he forwarded me a pic of one of his jeeps (he also has a sand drag jeep listed below for sale).
He’s been nice enough to let me post it. I really love the creative paint job — I haven’t seen anything quite like it.
Jeff writes, “This bobcat jeep was bought back in 1983 as a project. It was a body and a HUGE pile of parts, to which I’m sure your readers can relate. Currently, it runs a 355 chev w/ ford toploader 4 speed, a dana 20 case, a ford 9inch w/ 35 spline summers axles spool nod case and 6.00 gears. The front is a gutted mdl 27 w/ a mustang rack. The cage is chromoly. The car weights 2250lbs w/o a driver.”

(06/09/2010) Fun and fast.
“This is a very unique Willys CJ2 Jeep built to have fun in many different situations and is why its called 3 Dimensional. This Jeep is a very consistent multiple ASDA and NSDA sand drag event winner and runs in 4.0 to 4.20 second range to 300 feet at about 76 mph. However it also equally comfortable at the dunes and can run all day on a tank of gasoline. Lastly it is registered and licensed for the street and would be a bunch of fun with the proper tires. The Jeep sits on a 112″ wb Twisted Tubes Fab chassis and the body is by Mallet. This is a very well built, seldom seen example that was constructed with only the best parts. I will try to detail the vehicle here as much as possible but if you have a question or would like a picture of something specific please feel free to ask.”
