Vito from Italy has fond memories of jeeping with his father back in the early 1980s. Here’s a photo of his father at the helm of his CJ-5. Check out the tires. Yes, some Desert Dogs made it all the way to Italy. In fact, Vito is hunting for a set for a vintage build he’s creating. He’s got another Italian friend who has some old vintage dogs as well. I had no idea!
**SOLD** Were $80.
If I were in Seattle, I’d scoop these up.
“Pair of Desert Dog tires. Good rubber.”

Runs, drives, stops and has desert dogs.
“This is a 1948 Willys CJ3A. It was used by a vet in parades and events. It is not military but it is done up as an Airborne jeep. It has a Ford early pinto or 2000 series motor which runs flawlessly. I just put a poly tank in it and replaced the fuel lines. It fires right up and shifts through all the gears and all the four wheel drive is working. It still has the T90 transmission and dana 18 transfer case. It also has the original 5:38 geared Dana 44 rear axle. This is a real hoss in the woods. It will need some wiring and seat bottoms. Yes, It stops and yes I just drove it around the yard to test everything out. The battery is not included. This is sold as is with a bill of sale only. four two three seven six two five eight five eight or come by 6645 Lafayette road (just across the street from trails end ranch).”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
Could be made into a racer, too. Buckshots in the front and Desert Dogs on the back.
“I’m selling my ’49 Willys Bobtail Jeep. This is a Great Trail Jeep or Mudder or Rock Crawler or Whatever. It wouldn’t take much at all to make this a running driving jeep…. all that it needs is some brake work and possibly a carb. rebuild but otherwise complete and ready to go. It has the Stock 134F head 4Cyl. Engine , T90 3Spd. Transmission , Model 18 2 stick transfer case, Model 27 front axle and Model 44 rear axle both with 5.38 gears. Racing buckets with harnesses, Rear mounted 10 Gallon fuel cell and battery. It has a nicely built cage with rear mounted spare tire carrier. It has a 3″ suspension lift and comes with a pretty nice set of Radial Buckshots on White Spokes. We aren’t driving it much anymore and have kinda lost interest.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** were $250.
These appear to have some ware. Maybe 30-50% tread left?
“I have 4 desert dog tires on 15 inch rims. Bolt pattern is 5 on 5.5 wagon wheels, I also have four jeep alum rims for sale. They are the ones mounted on in picture”

Marc forwarded these two jeeps for sale in South Africa. The first is a Gobex Jade Jeep, a kit jeep that is no longer produced. Marc’s trying to find out what happened to them.
http://eastlondon.olx.co.za/gobex-jade-jeep-iid-484120158
The second jeep is a Badger Jeep, A veep-like kit car with a VW engine. What’s most interesting is that the tires are Desert Dog PCV Tires, yet the tires don’t include PCV like other PCV tires I’ve seen.

Have over $13,000 invested in it. Will sell for $3500 OBO, motivated seller. If live at far distance and unable to pick up, will deliver for fee. You can call/text 618-917-7777, for any questions you may have. tHANKSs”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $550. Desert Dogs PCV on a FC? That’s a rare sight.
“A later model 150. It has the wider track and the cast iron weight in the rear of the frame. The cab has the usual rust spots, the floor, lower rear corners and above the windshield. The bed is in reasonable condition, but no tail gate. The engine is loose and ran a few years ago. I never drove the truck so I do not know the condition of the transmission (three speed) and transfer case. The rear end is a limited slip. Included is a spare front axle from a CJ Jeep. It is a project, but it is all there.”
Ann and I arrived safely in Pasco after a sunny/rainy/snowy/windy day driving through the panhandle of Idaho, then west to Pasco. We spotted and photographed a couple jeeps, ate some good food and visited with family; so it was a complete day!
More tomorrow on this possible CJ-2L Bruce spotted. Note rare Desert Dog PCV tires (not that they are in good shape). They have a tighter tread than the standard Desert Dog tires.
