Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Roberto Flores shared this image from another group of an older jeep pulling floats. The hardtop is unusual and was usually seen in Europe, but it’s my guess that this was taken in California somewhere. I was able to use Google search to locate the same pic on Jalopy Journal.
UPDATE: The new owner has installed some new wiring, but it has not been completed.

“1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A. Has half cab installed with seat belts. Early model dauntless v6 engine that runs good, stock 1947 transmission/transfer case/axles. Has PTO and PTO driven winch on front. I got rid of the old wiring and have a 12 circuit harness that I started to install that has a new headlight swtch, turn signal switch, new wiper switch, and a new ignition switch. The lights are 12 volt. I also have a relay panel and switch panel for it. The wiring is routed, but not completed. Due to double knee replacements, I am unable to crawl around the Jeep like I used to. This is a really solid Willys Jeep that would make a great hunting rig or trail rider. I did drive it on the street but 30mph is as fast as these jeeps will go. I am asking $5000 or trade for square body suburban 4×4. ”

(03/10/2024) This has a GPW body. It may also have a rare Dumas or Carson middle seat (can’t tell for sure). It also has an unusual modified, but probably handy, cowl.

“1953 Willys CJ3A. No engine, had a ford 4cyl. I believe it has a GPW body going by the fuel tank filling under the driver’s seat , rear toolbox’s on fenders and no tailgate. Has been modified with a storage space under the windshield. Homemade lift shackles on the springs. Not in bad shape for its age. Clear Wyoming title. Sold as is. I do have a fresh rebuilt iron duke engine for sale for an additional charge.”
