Maybe someone can use this?
“Came off late 1942 GPW. Tub has several solid straight panels. Dash, cowl and firewall all straight but dash has some extra holes. Fenders need inner support brackets and some minor patching but appear straight and never dented. Hood also straight. Glove box door is straight and has left and right info plates but they were painted over. Glove Box is solid and straight and button appears original but is frozen up.”

UPDATE: Price bumped to $3800. Luis indicates it looks more like a 2A.

I snatched this awesome Kelly hardtop brochure off of eBay for a good price. It includes information on the Kelly Safari hardtop. What I like is that the brochure also documents the models numbers.
Also included was the price list (one that includes two different types of dispatchers) and an original order envelope. I also didn’t know that Kelly interacted with Kayline tops at one point. Based on a Kayline brochure, it appears that Kayline handled the territory west of the Mississippi, while Kelly sold Kayline tops east of the Mississippi.
This rebuilder needs some help with his/her jeep.
“I have a 1952 CJ3A I’ve been working on for several years and I’m looking for someone to help me put it all back together. I have the fiberglass tub back from paint, chassis powder coated and installed, new tires, overhauled engine.
What remains:
Permanently mount the body onto the frame
Convert the 6V to a 12V (new conversion kit and all parts are already ordered and ready to install)
Run the fuel lines
Install the electrical components and hook up all new instruments (holes already cut)
Mount seats into frame
A few other odds and ends 🙂
As restoration projects go, this one is really close to completion but I need some help; the last and final push, to get it back on the road.
I have done or paid to have done (i.e. paint, engine OH) and it has taken me a long time. Ready to finish it before the cold weather arrives. I am 100 lbs and I lack the physical strength to shift the tub into proper place on my own, and I am new to this area. I am looking for someone that can help me with the remaining restoration project. Flexible hours, at my location in Grants Pass where I have the vehicle stored. I can pay you hourly or salary, depending on your skill level and how you prefer to work. Please have knowledge of older vehicles, be competent at what you do, honest, have integrity and preferably a love of old Willys and / or fond of vintage aircraft (I installed over 2,000 rivets into the body of this tub 🙂 )”
Looks like a good price.

(05/09/2017) Craig spotted this nice looking VEC.
“1946 Willys CJ-2A very early civilian column shift VIN 28537
CJ2A
VEC Jeep
Civilian model, not military MB WWII Jeep
Completely rebuilt in 2010, including new body (tub costs over $2000 alone without hood, front fenders, grill, windshield frame, etc.), rebuilt engine (new pistons, rings, water pump, oil pump, etc.), transmission, transfer case and axles – like getting a “new” 1946 Jeep for much less than it would cost you to buy the parts and pay the labor to build it – and, to top it off, it is a coveted VEC model, too! Nice enough that you could run it in a parade or take it to a show, but not so nice that you’d be afraid of using it!
94,703 miles.
Pennsylvania antique registration.”

“Very straight Willy’s jeep
Drives like new all original body
Tires brakes and everything else tight
Used most of its life in parades
Will send more pictures of you request”
Looks in good shape.
“This Jeep is a real vintage gem. It’s been in my family for more that 40 years and it breaks my heart to have to sell it. My father did a complete frame off rebuild and fixed or replaced everything about 20 years ago, keeping it as original as possible. It has been garaged ever since. Mileage is is around 20,000, body and interior are clean, engine runs well. Great fun to drive offroad and will go up to 40mph on road. Manual steering and transmission is 3 speed with manual high & low transfer case and 2 or 4 wheel drive. Front windshield folds down, we have added 2 removable extra seats in the back and safety rails for back seat passengers.
All it needs is tires and TLC.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
Nick’s got this CJ-3A up for sale.
“I have a clear title. This Willys Jeep CJ3A is a great weekend today. It runs, drives, and even stops. It shifts smooth, rides decent, and is a Jeep that you can hop in and enjoy today.
Fitted with a front PTO winch that is fully functional. Engine does not smoke and has good oil pressure.
This Jeep came from Wyoming and thus the body is in pretty decent shape. There are some repairs on the drivers side and on the hood, but overall not a rust bucket. A couple small spots on the floor. It still has the original drain holes on the sides of the tub.”
The floors have been patched. Sounds like it runs and drives.

Looks in good shape.
“Willys original CJ3a hardtop and doors. Came off 1948 CJ3a. Door locks work and windows are not cracked and roll up and down.”
Looks like there could be parts value at the very least.
“Selling this 1965 CJ5 Jeep. It is for the most part complete and I did get it to run for a few minutes last year. Somewhere along the line a L134 engine was swapped in place of the original F134. There is no seats in it, and I took the carb off it for another jeep I have. Everything else is there. Has a 6′ manual angle snow plow and a metal hard top. Also has a nice set of very aggressive bias tires on it. They all hold air but have some dry rot. Brakes don’t work. Frame looks pretty good no holes or patches that I could see. Body is there but it is a 52 year old plow jeep. Mainly floors, but saveable in my opinion.
I have a title but its notarized into someone else’s name.
I do not want to take a million pictures or Awnser endless texts, nor do I want to trade for anything. I’m not desperate to sell, just would like the space it’s taking up.”

For that Willys owner who wants something unique. I don’t know how rare it is or isn’t. I just thought this was cool.
“Old Willys fire truck. It was a pickup or van converted to parade fire truck. Very unique. Will need work.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000.
Looks rough. That’s a taller hardtop. I’m not certain what brand it is.
“1946 CJ-2A, clear title. Frame tag and cowl tag are present, matching, and match the title. The engine is RMC-marked on the top of the deck in front. The engine supposedly turns, but I have not tried to make it turn due to harmonic balancer being removed. There are extra parts included with this jeep. $1000.00. Located in MD near Baltimore”
I think more than “a little” elbow grease will be required.
“We are selling our project jeep! A little elbow grease and you’ll have a great piece of history!”

Which direction do you go when you see a sign like “Mines”?
“1944- U.S. soldiers in jeeps make a detour in a street of Coutances, France, mined by retreating Germans. Behind the “Mines” marker is a knocked out Stuart light tank.”
