About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“All original bumper to bumper and top to bottom. Just had the original starter refurbished and it’s ready to install. I love this jeep but she deserves someone with more time than I have to give. Needs tires , seat covers, and a minor tune-up. It was used only a couple weeks out of each year for deer hunting purposes by previous owner till starter went. Then it sat for a few years till I bought it. Reasonable offers considered but like I already said, I love this JEEP”
(09/08/2017) Looks in good shape. The recessed headlights suggest this was more likely a Scamp than a Veep, but both kits looked very similar otherwise (as best as I can tell).
“Fun to drive, draws attention from admirers, great for snowbirds to pull behind an RV.
In 2004, at this jeep’s birth, it took a second place in a car show in Sacramento.
This is a conversion of a 1946 Willy’s jeep cj3a (army style) into what was called back in the ’70’s a “Veep”, which meant a steel Jeep body with VW bug running gear (motor and trans).
This Jeep body came out of a shipping crate with army green paint and had never been assembled until i opened it and bolted the hood and floor plate together in 2004. The engine is a dual port stock 1600cc air-cooled motor with a single solex 30 carburetor built in 2004. It has a type 1 transmission with standard 4-spd manual shifting. This Jeep includes the following features:
Four wheel disc brakes
External oil cooler w/ thermostatically controlled cooling fan
Four Fox shocks including external reservoirs in the rear
VW beam front end
Centerline aluminum rims (new tires)
White front bucket seats
A removable rear bench that seats 3 on black diamond stitching
VDO vintage gold rimed gauges
The clear plastic windows in the doors was replaced in 2016
Diamond plate floor under the hood compartment
Custom spare tire mount on front for improved weight distribution
Many customizations..
Many of the upgrades and customizations were installed by a shop in mesa around 2015 and cost me over $8,000.
This jeep has an original 14,000 miles on it from the front to the transmission and engine and from top to bottom. You can see from the youtube video address above that the jeep runs great and sounds awesome. This jeep does not have the old low gearing of a 1946 army jeep with top limits of 45mph. This jeep can do 65-70mph on the freeway easy.
I used it for a daily commuter for a year, then played with it as a pleasure vehicle for the family, now it just sits in the garage and only gets run on the weekends. I just drove it from Arizona to San Francisco for a business trip for a few weeks then back again. It ran perfectly. However, I’m interested in trying something else now.
I am taking offers and will consider all offers that are presented via voicemail or direct phone call. I will not respond to nor consider offers via email or text.
I am under no illusion that I will get back my $15,000 that i have invested in the Jeep and will not be offended by your offer. Please offer what you think it is worth to you and I’ll accept or decline with no hard feelings nor offense taken.
Make sure you watch the youtube video before contacting me since it answers many questions about the Jeep.
Will consider trade for a Suzuki Sidekick or a Geo Tracker or Toyota RAV4 but only a 2dr hard top in fully restored condition that is as pristine as my Jeep and I prefer a 2wd.“
“Selling a 1961 Willys cj5 jeep. This was a project and still needs some things finished. It was intended to build and keep. Plans have changed and this needs to go. Has been converted to a small block Chevy block numbers show it to be from the early 60’s chevy nova 283ci. Engine was removed and resealed with new torquer cam and aluminum intake. Has new summit 500cfm carb. Brand new small cap hei distributer. Has three speed manual transmission with twin stick transfer case. New battery, Fresh paint, bed lined inside tub. Complete brand new wiring harness from American auto wire. New fender flares, tires are near new condition. Passenger seat has small tare. New custom aluminum half doors. New fuel tank mounted under the rear of the jeep instead of under driver seat. New CD player and speakers. Needs front driveline welded up and installed along with seat belts. Brakes need bleed again. Has bikini top and tube rear bumper that’s not pictured. Also have a spare tire and wheel and handy man jack that can go with. I’m sure I’m missing other stuff. I drive it around the house and it drives ok. With a little more work it could be a great jeep. Clean Colorado title in my name. Great winter project.”
It’s a mix of civilian and military parts. Now sure which it has more of.
“For sale is a 1944 GPW Jeep from the WWII era. It has new tires, excellent body and runs & drives. It does need a clutch. Asking $5,000.00. I also have other Jeeps available for sale such as a 1942 Willy’s MB from the WWII era as well.”
Listed as a 1961, the serial number suggests this is a September 1964. It has a Meyer hardtop.
“1961 willys jeep cj 5. Comes with hardtop, doors and plow. Will run off carb cleaner. Only piece missing is the radiator. Frame in great shape, rest of the body has usual rust areas. I bought it to build a cj 6 with but lost interest due to building my cj3a. Sold on Bill of sale.”
“Complete MB Body, Brand New, never mounted, still in Primer.
Includes Tub, fenders, Hood, Grill, Windshield, Bumperettes, top bows, and spare tire holder.”
(07/07/2017) Has some mods to the rear of the body.
“Parade ready Jeep done up as a US Air Force vehicle. It is a 4×4, 3 speed w/reverse, hi/lo range. Has been converted from 6 to 12VDC with alternator. Gauges work, has windshield wiper and period heaters for driver/passenger. Has a canvas half-top and many other new parts. The original flathead four runs well, and vehicle drives good and comes with a custom made tow-bar and vehicle cover. Currently registered with Antique plates.
VIN # CJ2A185125…………….a unique ride, and a real head turner.
I am 6’2″ and 230 lbs and don’t fit well into this Jeep, a little too tight. As far as I know, this has only been used for parades since being restored by previous owner a number of years ago, and I have only put about 25 miles on it.”
