UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $5000.
This one has a strange story. I don’t know if it is an XM-408 or not, but I did run across a manual for a 6×6 Mutt on eBay (see bottom).
“Bought the Mutt a military vehicle auction. Took it to shop to get running. They removed the engine and claimed it was stolen. So it has not engine and possibly other thinks missing. It was a ambulance in a past life. Unknown who put the 6 wheels on. Could have been the collector or it could have been a test vehicle in the US or Israeli army. I wanted to get it up and running to drive around on some property. It is not street legal. It would be fun to have hauling people around a farm or ranch. Takes a flat head ford army jeep engine.”
==============================
There’s also a reproduction manual for the M-151 6×6 on eBay:
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
It runs,
“1948 WILLYS JEEP, THE ORIGINAL ATV. 4X4, 3SPD HI/LO TRANS, 4 CYL MOTOR, RUNS GREAT, BODY IS ROUGH. GREAT FOR RANCH OR HUNTING VEHICLE, can almost climb a wall. MAY consider partial trade for stock trailer, horses, saddles.”
Craig spotted this running jeep. It has some rust.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.
It’s not perfect, but maybe someone can use this.
“1947 Willys CJ2A body tub, front fenders, hood and grille for sale. All has ratty-looking flaking white/blue paint, bondo, old fiberglass, surface rust, etc. but has been repaired structurally to be usable, or suitable for more restoration.
Tub floor and hat channels have been replaced but the lower sides need attention unless you want to go the Rat Jeep route. Front fenders are a little rough, but repaired and usable until you find better ones. Hood has had a hole repaired and is also usable. Grille is in good condition, but headlight buckets are missing. Will throw in remains of a later tailgate to complete the ratty set. All pieces but tailgate have matching “patina” as noted.
Asking $600 for the lot, mainly because of the hours in the tub floor. Have a couple equally ratty matching windshield frames for extra $.”
Runs, but rough.
“Older Jeep CJ3A 1949 to 1953 not real sure of year, but is CJ3A. with plow was parked several years. I got this running yesterday, run good. Changed gas and fuel line and installed used starter and replaced battery and ingnition switch. I know one of the plow operating cables is froze up. I put power to the plow and it lifted all right. No one can remember when it was last titled or where so selling with no title. But I could obtain one but would be another $150 more or sell with bill of sale only. This would make a good plow for the winter coming up.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $100.
Craig shared this one. There seems to be $100 worth of value here, probably just in the windshield glass. The speedometer suggests this could well be a 1956.
“Selling an old JEEP from the 1950’s. I don’t know what year exactly, but it is from the 50’s. Someone said 1956, but not sure. PARTS ONLY, YOU REMOVE. Windshield is good, many good engine parts as well, headlamps, grill, etc.
$100, YOU MUST REMOVE FROM PROPERTY AND TAKE ALL
First Come First Served. MUST COME READY TO REMOVE WITH TOOLS / TRAILER, AND HELP AT TIME OF VIEWING, NO EXCEPTIONS.
If interested call or text. Worth the money if you are looking for original parts to restore one, there are many good parts and engine looks surprisingly clean. No calls from blocked or restricted numbers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
TJ spotted this one on Facebook. It runs and has an ice cream music box.
“Right hand drive postal jeep with ice cream music box. Runs good, reverse linkage needs adjusted.”
Depending on the winch, there could be value here.
“Needs total restoration ”

“1946 Willy’s Jeep, jeep belonged to my wife’s Grandfather. Tore it down to do a frame up rebuild, just don’t have the time. Original frame was bent/cracked so I replaced it with a frame from a 1950-52 M-38. It has been sandblasted, added new front and rear bumper, front and rear shackle brackets, welded cracks, added new modified left engine mount to match CJ2A engine mount, new engine/transmission mount kit and newer transmission cross member. Brand new suspension includes front and rear springs, frame bump stops, shocks, U-bolts, greaseable shackles and hardware. New tires on original rims, spare rim and original spare tire mount. Front axle model 25, rear axle model 41 (both have been sandblasted), front knuckle’s and all brakes F&R have been removed. Engine is not original (4 cyl from early 60’s with overhead valves). Two transmissions/transfer cases. All original gages, body parts, seat frames, gas tank, tailgate (stamped Willy’s), and grill with original headlamps. Original Jeep manual and reprinted parts catalog.”

The internet was unusually bad last night, so just a few updates today.
Nevada’s “The Union” newspaper shared an article on a 1942 Slat Grille owned by Brian Miner.

Jim is selling his CJ-5. It’s got a ventilating windshield, overdrive, and a Meyer hardtop.
“A 1959 CJ-5. Has a Ford 302 under the hood. 3 speed. Needs a radiator and a battery. Has a Warn overdrive, rare ventilating windshield, hardtop, and 70/30 front seat. Shocks, leaf springs, alternator, and starter has been replaced within the last 100 miles. I hate to sell, but I have no time to finish. Replaced the engine that was in it from a 1971 Mustang. The ford 221 v-8 from a 1962 Fairlane that I removed, was worn out and smoking. Any and all parts I have will go with the sale. I have always wanted to do a full restoration on this one, but work keeps me away from home 11 months a year. It has been sitting under cover for 4 years. Needs minor work to run again.”

When I purchased this brochure on eBay, I didn’t expect it would unfold to such a large size! Even better, I got it using “make offer” on eBay for only $16. Here is how it unfolds:
And then the inside … this one is worth making some posters.
I expect this was a posed photo, Neat nonetheless. I found a second photo online from a different angle (see bottom pic). I was unable to learn if Catherine was someone famous. Anyone know?
“1944 Press Photo WAC Pvt. Catherine Rogers Rides on Jeep in New Guinea. This is an original press photo. WAC Pvt. Catherine Rogers of Boston, Mass., gets a ride in a Jeep soon after her arrival in New Guinea with a small advance contingent of WACs. Aussie Sgt. Len McTavish is her chauffeur, and two natives, who wanted a lift down the road, come along for the ride. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 06-23-1944.”

On page 5 of the Northern Recon Group’s “Jeep News” (pg 5) there is a second press photo of the group from a different angle.
