“1947 Jeep CJ2A survivor. This Jeep was last registered and driven in 1978. It has been in dry storage and only recently been prepared for sale. Repairs include a new fuel tank, brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders and miscellaneous brake lines and hoses. The generator has been rebuilt and a new voltage regulator installed. The carburetor has been rebuilt and the water pump replaced. The tires are new period correct non directional 6.00X16 reproductions. This Jeep starts easily, runs smoothly and carries good oil pressure and does not smoke. The transmission shifts properly and yes, it jumps out of second gear. The transfer case operates properly. It has had one repaint from Picket gray to tan in the 1970’s. The paint is scratched but still has a shine. Included is the original canvas 1/2 cab top which is only good for a pattern. It currently has a black top that is very serviceable. It is also equipped with a Shenecker hand pump snow plow. Rust through is limited to the tool box”
This could be worth a look.

(09/17/2024) According to the seller this was a Navy contract CJ-2A. It’s not clear what evidence the seller has, but there might be a plate under the serial plate on the firewall. This would be a rare 2A if that’s the case.

(09/30/2024) Listed as a 1941, this lacks the correct grill, but appears to have an MB frame. It also appears to have GPW tool lids. There is no glove box. This might be a compilation of parts? Note that the hubs are stamped “Allstate” and likely are rebranded Husky hubs. Also, the tires are branded “Allstate”.

This is a project of some type. The body looks to be a replacement body, so hard to tell if this has a WWII or CJ chassis/

(08/12/2024) This FC-170 has been shorted to accommodate a Parson’s 6ft bed.
“1962 Jeep FC.Originally a 170 model,I took the bed off and shortened the frame. I had this PARSON’S 6FT utility bed I picked up years ago and I put them together. The utility bed had a missing door so I made one and just need to cut the hole for the latch and install it.. Minor rust on both the cab and bed.. Some rust above windshield. Most panels are straight. Missing drivers glass. The 80 year old previous owner installed a 67ish chevy 250/th350 and wired himself with this brother.. They installed a 8.8 rear end but left the front axle. This thing runs and drives well, stops well. Has manual steering but it’ll put hair on your chest! The only thing is that it runs a bit hot,I just installed a 16″ electric fan and it can idle for a while but if you drive it kinda hard, the temp creeps up.. I think I needs timing and maybe more airflow since the bumpers kinda block that… Great for your business. No trades..”
Not sure how much value is here.

We had our annual family gathering last weekend (hence the lack of updates). I was busy up til folks started arriving on Friday morning and didn’t stop moving until Sunday night. We had around 40 folks camping, tenting, RVing, staying in the house, crashing in the bunk house, and even sleeping in the shop’s extra rooms. The weather was perfect, warm during the day and cool enough at night for some fires.
The balloons launched at 7am Saturday morning, but Sunday proved too windy (the balloons launch about a 2 miles from us). This year the winds took the balloons east, so we didn’t get any close up views from our property (but most relatives went to the airport to watch them). However, most of the time we were all having fun, playing games, eating and hanging out. Here are some random pics from the event.
I purchased these posters circa 2011(?). They are all based on brochures published by Willys-Overland or Willys Motors. I sold all of them, except for keeping a personal copy of each one. It’s unclear where I ever published this post.

Bill shared this short story about a man from South Africa who had a life-long dream to own a Willys. FYI: 1 South African Rand is currently equivalent to $17.50 USD. R21,000 = aprox $1,200USD.

Tanner found a set of four of these adapters, but several of us don’t recognize them (Here are some for comparison: http://www.ewillys.com/2017/04/05/dual-wheel-adapters/). They seem closest to the Hickey adapters, but also different front them. Here are the pics:
