About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Hate to sell this thing but things have came up and I don’t have the time to finish it right now. It’s a 1947 willys cj2a with a Mercedes turbo diesel, it is the 3.0 liter 5 cylinder model from a 1985 300d, I have a video of the previous owner of the Mercedes starting it. It has the automatic from the Mercedes still on it which has gotten adapted to the willys transfer case. The jeep is axle dropped so it’s lifted about 8 inches. I have the Mercedes which I will sell with it if you want it for parts and scrap money. Continue reading →

“1944 Press Photo Jeep stuck in mud halts convoy with supplies in Burma jungle. This is an original press photo. Rivers and mud slow the builders of the Zedo road that will replace the old Burma road, supply route to China cut by the Japanese. Top: Chinese engineers build a handmade wooden bridge across the Tanai Hka river. Bottom, a jeep stuck in the road construction receives a helping had after it was bogged down in the mud, deep in the Burma jungle. A convoy of trucks had to wait on the side of the road for the jeep to be extricated before pushing on (United State) (Wars) (World War II) (Burma)Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 08-11-1944.”
“I have a nice, 90% rust free FC 170 for sale. Came from Reno Nevada to Florida this year. My plan was to do a full resto, but I found a J300 DRW I will do instead.
This truck was originally owned by an Aviation Company in the mid west and still has the metal inventory tag. It runs and drives well, with the stock 226-6, 3 spd T90,. the body is really nice for a FC. Frame excellent, rain gutters excellent, glass fair, floors are amazingly good, fenders good, doors not rusty, just need body work. Some amateur body work was started by the prev owner, but there is much to work with here. This truck is 100% stock, except for a plexiglass dash (no idea) and some bucket seats. I have a stock uncut dash that goes with the truck for you, but not the seats.
Take a look at the pics. FC’s are very popular and are difficult to find in decent condition. No low ball offers, but I may entertain an offer close to 6500. You wont lose money on FC’s – why they are so hot – I have no idea.”
Mouse ate some wiring, so it doesn’t run at the moment. It might not take much to get it going again.
“1952 Willys Jeep. Selling due to the death of the owner. I do not know the details or history of this Willys. It is currently not running because mice ate some wiring. It should run but you should consider as non-running. A couple oddities…there was power brakes and a different gas pedal installed and it has street tires. I guess the plan was to have a daily driver. I don’t know. Anyway, other than that it’s pretty neat looking. I have the transferable registration. $4200.”
“Listed for your viewing pleasure today is my very clean 1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep. This little beauty is truly something special. Column shift “3 on the tree” in the original color combo for the period. This Jeep spent the better part of 16 years after being completed stored in a dusty but climate controlled garage and after a long stretch and some tinkering she is ready for some action!
The whole Jeep was gone through in the late 90s after being acquired by the previous owner by the original owner family who had it new for farm use and then the grandson in the late 60s to early 70s had it as an advertising piece for his auto parts store in central DE. Mileage was said to be original. Flat Head 4. The jeep has practically new tires, a brand new battery, coil, cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires and floor ignition switch. The fuel tank, wiring harness, fuel lines, brake lines and so on were all replaced previously as well. The frame and body are both in great shape.
Very solid Jeep here as shown in the photos. Some things were changed such as the spare tire and wheel location, a roll cage was added for safety and seat belts were added as well. All are easily removed if you prefer to be more period correct. Vacuum operated drivers side wiper even works! Newer Bestop soft top in great condition as well as the full soft doors seen in the photos. Tiny crack in the drivers side windshield glass. Paint shows very well. Has some tiny blemishes up close but these things were not painted even when they were new to be show stoppers.
I would say this Jeep is a very solid driver quality piece that is sure to grab just about anyone’s attention. I have all new brakes for the front and rear that will go with the Jeep as well as various manuals, a cover, spare oil filter and other small bits and pieces acquired over time. Starts, runs, rides, stops, idles and cools great.
I see a tiny drop of oil on the floor every now and then from the oil pan, never cared to fool with it. No issues there. Has not seen much action lately other than in and out of the garage and fair weather spins around the neighborhood with my son and wife. Be prepared for questions, this thing gets attention. If I have it at the bottom of the driveway while cleaning out the garage the lookie loo’s all come around!
More information to come! I also have a video of it running that I will post shortly as well. As you can see I have too much laying around and I am trying to reduce the toys laying around. I have a hellcat in the garage that’s buried at this point from the clutter. No the Tri-Z is not for sale. Neither is the Lifted Platinum Superduty 🙂 “
“Arizona Willy’s shipped here 2 years ago. Garaged, Registered, Title in hand. No rust. All original. Run around with her as is, or do a restoration, its all there. Comes with: new tailgate and chains, Supports for canvas, spare rim.
If you know what this is you know its worth my asking price, please don’t waist my time or yours with lowball offers. Show up with cash and drive it home. I’ve had more fun with this car than any I’ve owned.
Text message is preferred, but feel free to call if that’s better for you.”
(09/19/2017) Apart from the body, it isn’t clear what else needs finishing.
“After seven years a lot of hard work it’s time to sell my 1946 Willys CJ2a. I’ve taken it down to the bare frame and rebuilt it. It runs and drives now but isn’t quite finished. Underneath everything has been painted, bed-lined, resealed, the brakes are all new, and the exhaust is fresh as well. I’ve been through the engine, rebuilt the carb, and the entire wiring harness has been replaced. I fixed the major rust, redid the floors and left the rest alone because I like patina. It comes with lots of spares (extra engine, transfer case, hood, and another complete set of axles) and could basically be driven as is. Of course if you want it shiny, that’s OK too.”
“A lot of folks has heard of a CJ 5 and a CJ 7 Jeep, but have you heard of a CJ-6 Jeep. This is a rare Jeep that when fixed up is worth a lot of money. I was going to restore this Jeep but just don’t have the time. ”
“1948 jeep willys, runs and drives beautifully, 4X4 works perfectly. Has had tons of work done, just needs someone to finish it off (or leave the great old patina and enjoy it). Comes with 6 stock wheels that need new tires mounted on. Text for details or to schedule a time to come check it out”
These photos from a Special Equipment training event in San Antonio, Texas, were published in the February 1955 issue of Kaiser Willys News. While the Commando Fire Truck was included in the photo spread, I’m betting that the photo was not taken in San Antonio.
There are a few jeeps in this, but I thought it was the photo in its entirely that was interesting.
“1943 Press Photo Tent City US Navy Seabees Bulldozers Jeeps Attu Aleutians WWII. You are bidding on an original press photo of Tent City US Navy Seabees Bulldozers Jeeps Attu Aleutians WWII. Photo has small crease top left corner. Photo measures 8 x 10 inches and is dated 12/26/1943.”

Listed as a 1945 GPW, I don’t see anything that early on it. Maybe the frame still is? Has some practical, offroad updates. If it is a GPW frame, look for twists caused by the V8.

(10/20/2017) Give much of this looks nice, I’m surprised the front bumper is an angle iron.
“Original 1946 Willys Jeep 383 Stoker motor, heavy-duty transmission, Stiffened frame, power steering, custom battery box with new battery, custom aluminum gas tank, four-wheel-drive w low gear and overdrive. Heavy Duty running gear. Brand new $1000 set of tires.
This machine drives perfect on the road. It’s very fast very and dependable She comes with new soft top and doors. This could easily be a daily driver. ”
“**PRICE REDUCED** This is a fun little right hand drive jeep that I drove in high school but I don’t have much use for it anymore. I have replaced lots of parts on it including rear shocks, replaced brake master cylinder, fuel filter, air filter, fan belt, I did a transmission flush, oil change and a lot more simple stuff. It does run and drive but does need a little work to be super reliable”
