Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have rebuilt t18 transmission ( spent $1300) with Novak adapter to a cj2a dana 18 ( rebuilt) with warn overdrive ( rebuilt by Olympic 4×4) combo that I need to sell. I had this combo built years ago but never completed the project so it has zero miles. I have paperwork on tranny and overdrive but cannot find transfer case paperwork. Have all shifters and linkage for all. This has been in my shop collecting dust for many years but has been inside the whole time. It is currently attached to a ford 289 (zero mile since built) but I may keep that for my bronco”

“1954 Willys CJ3B – V8 conversion. Front disc brake upgrade. Have the rear drum rebuild kit. It’s a project but definitely a classic. 33″ tires and Comes with new smitty built seats. New fuel tank. 52″ LED. Engine does run. Brand New Champion Radiator. I started this project but have to many other projects going. Comes with a lot more not shown in pictures. Dirtworx rear bumper and ammo box center console. Hate to see it go but have a baby on the way. Title in hand and current registration.”

“This Willys Jeep CJ2A has had an off-chassis rehab. It has a green exterior with gray interior. It is powered by a 4-cylinder Hurricane engine with manual transmission. This Jeep is 70 years old and was built after WWII. Titled as 1946 Jeep.”

Two projects or parts.
“I have TWO Rolling Chassis. The goal was to combine these two trucks in a restoration project and have since had a little boy and need more than two seats to justify restoring an old truck but I really LOVE the FC trucks. Below I will provide the very best details I have.
1958 FC-150 body and tub (no drive train). Great shape. Barn kept from southern Colorado in the desert.
Exterior: Minimal rust (mainly in the bed seams), cab corners are great and rust free. Windshield and rear window but no side glass. Spare tire, gas tank and tailgate all present. Front and rear bumpers are original. Tires hold air but are not road worthy. I have a set of 31×10.5R15 that are in good shape that will go with the truck. Great Patina!!

This originally belonged to the State of Montana.

Only one owner after sold from the State Of Montana. Runs good, drives good and stops. Military Issued “Cold Weather Package.. (Heater and Solid Doors With Top..) The top is original all aluminum construction with original doors. The vehicle has a coat of “blue” paint over the top of the “Army Drab” the original paint can be seen and inspected around much of the vehicle. Decal and production plates intact on the vehicle.. Clear title with no hassles to drive it away!”

“EXTREMELY SOLID 53 Willys Wagon from out west. Frame is near perfect and body is nearly so. Newly rebuilt F134-4 cyl motor with less than 2 hrs on it, runs quietly and well. 3 speed transmission with hi/low 4 wheel drive transfercase. New: clutch, 8 volt battery, coil, points, condensor, rotor, cap, wires and plugs. 5 new tires, no miles. 78,621 miles, believed to be correct, speedometer still works! New upholstery on front seats and middle seats. This would make an excellent base for restoration, good winter project or drive it with the patina showing. Possible trade for Willys CJ3b.”

It’s got a variety of mods.
“1949 customized Jeep Willy’s. Has a cj5 motor in it, actual miles unknown but most of the stuff on this Jeep has been replaced or rebuilt. This Jeep has thousands of dollars in custom work and parts. New heavy duty steering and power steering added also. It’s a really cool Jeep.”

“1950 Willys cj3a Jeep. This is a 95% complete jeep with original flat head 4cyl. “Go devil” engine. It is not running needs valves replaced but cylinders look good. I have a box of parts for it as well ( including the original seat brackets that allow passenger seat to fold fwd.) comes with a new tow bar. Tires will hold air for a day or so. I do have Colo. Title for it. Not interested in parting out as it only needs a few things to be complete. Asking $ 2200/obo.”

It’s a project.
“I bought this Jeep around 2012 from a person in Ivins who had it sitting in his yard for 25 years. He replaced the engine with a known good running engine when he first got it. He turned the engine by hand a couple of times a year to keep it free.
I put a lot of work into it around 2012/2013
I lost interest, and it has literally sat outside here in Ivins since 2013. It’s still in similar shape, but I’m sure there’s a bit more rust.
For the most part it’s pretty clean. I scrubbed, and painted the engine, transfer case, and tranny. I got most of the crud off the frame and other parts too, so it’s ready for mainly mechanical/body work at this point.
(I have an album of about 200 pictures from 2013 when I did the work. It won’t allow me to post it here, email me for the link. It shows a lot of detail of what has been done.)
