UPDATE: Price dropped to $7000.
It doesn’t run, but looks in pretty good shape otherwise (in the pics anyway).

“Testing waters before I decide to jump into project.
Solid truck
6 cyl
Not running…..
Been sitting in garage for 25 years
Interior nice no rips, floors solid no rust
Manual w OD
Title in my name”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1400.
Looks like it might have a Warn winch on the front. The hardtop looks to be a Kelly standard 200 series.
“Willy’s mail jeep with snowplow. It ran until we parked it several years ago. 4 cylinder classic ready for a new home and a restoration project. All original parts I’m also throwing in a 1959 Willy’s jeep for parts with very low miles. 1400.00 OBO. I would also trade for a 5 by 8 trailer or slightly bigger and some cash.”
No pics provided. This might make a good upgrade.
“Ive got a ford 2.3 turbo motor that I was going to use in a Willy’s jeep swap ended up selling the jeep so Im looking to sell the motor. The motor came out of a 88 thunderbird ran when pulled. Ive also got all the wiring harness’s, ecu’s, and various other parts to complete the motor. I converted it to an aluminum oil pan off an ford ranger 2.3 motor and also put roller rockers in the head from the ford ranger motor, along with a new timing belt. Im sure It’ll have to be torn down further for gaskets and such due to just sitting on a stand in my garage now for a few years. Tough engines to find now, I also have all the adapters and “pinto” bellhousing to go with the motor if your interested so this will adapt to an early cj2a or cj3a with the T-90 transmission.”

I’m took last night off. Updates begin anew on Monday morning.
One of the better jeep train photos.
“1943 Press Photo Pvt. Ward directs the jeep carrying cargo and three others. This is an original press photo. 6 –The jee takes on cargo at the loading platform in an air depot. The jeep has only one small trailer. In jeep is Sgt. D. Kelly. of Betava, N.Y. Pvt. Ed. L. Ward, of Kenton, Ohio, directs from the platform, while Pvt. Henry Martion. of Great Falls, Mont, is in the truck on platform. Sgt. M. J. Bacciarina, from Merced, Calif., stands at rear of trailer.Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 08-20-1943.”
UPDATE: All the Digger and Trencher parts have sold. I’ll leave this up for now, as the breadth of parts still out in the wild might be of interest to someone. I believe Chris McKay also has some trencher parts.
“For Sale , extensive collection of Go For Digger, Auburn and Jeep A Trench related parts. Would be willing to sell whole lot in a package deal with the Auburn Trencher listed, or sell just the parts or sell all parts separately if anyone is looking for specific parts.
There were two NOS 40″ PTO shafts which I believe were correct for the go for digger and trencher units, one of the shafts has been sold. The other one is still available and in great shape with the exception of many years of shelf life, boots are excellent as is shaft ends and tube. Also the one mount pictured for the Dozer blade has been sold and one of the control valve units as well. There is also a Dozer blade and what looks to be the conveyor belt for a Digger for sale too.
I have attached quite a few pics to show whats included in the lot , lots of bearings ,seals ,creeper gears ,arms ,ring gears , speed reducers , and much much more . Everything I have is pictured but if your looking for a small specific part send me a description or picture and I will see if I have it in the small parts bins. As mentioned I would be willing to sell entire lot but you will def need a full size empty truck as there is a lot of it there. I’ll listen to all reasonable offers on the Jeep and the parts lot and return all emails or calls .”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2800.
(12/04/2017) Ted’s selling this CJ-5. I estimate it to be around mid 1968, but that’s just a guess based on the serial number.
“For sale late sixties CJ5 Auburn Jeep A Trench . Starts, runs good and drives , clutch feels good , no brakes . Body’s kinda rough but frame looks pretty good . Havent had a chance to go over it well to check everything but seems to be pretty complete , missing one of the augers. PTO engages and shaft spins . Not very familiar with these units so will try my best to answer any questions. Looks complete enough to restore or get going and use as is, or would be a great parts donor for another Auburn Trencher unit. Front counter weight there ,as is the creeper gear , pto assembly, Fhead Governor , overload springs ( Canfields or Koenigs ?) etc”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2500.
(11/27/2017) Ted’s got this custom trailer for sale. Looks road ready!

All original Tags in place and in great shape.Custom diamond plate nerf bars and Willys logo. Custom pin striping on trailer and large Military Ammo box mounted on Trailer. New brakes and Ebrake works great .
UPDATE: I’ve seen this one all over. It’s a scam.
Tim shared this one. He’s concerned the price is too good to be true. I think it is right on the edge. Proceed with caution. After a few searches, I found the same ad in Portland. I suspect this is a scam.
“Runs well, 3 speed transmission with overdrive. Recently painted, interior and convertible top in good condition. 5 new tires with tubes, the bumpers, hood trim and interior dash trim all have been re-chromed.”

UPDATE II: Clint found the source for these photos. This jeep is actually for sale in Houston, Texas, for $16,995.
UPDATE: This is for sure a scam. I’ve seen listed across the US. According to one reader, “Seller claims they want to deal thru EBAY where you deposit your money and the Jeep with be shipped to you. If you don’t want it , ship it back and your money will be refunded.”

According to the February 1955 Kaiser Willys News, Willys Motors was ‘stealing’ auto shows across the country. Shouldn’t someone have been arrested for theft? And, where does someone hide an autoshow??
This seems like good timing giving the fires going on in Southern California right now. It’s too bad the jeep doesn’t show up better.
I’m not sure why this has a Surrey top and tire cover? I think it detracts from the vehicle.

https://modesto.craigslist.org/cto/d/1947-willys/6416544444.html
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
Appears to have a replacement body, but is missing the steps.
“1946 Willys Jeep. Clean body, no rust or dents. Engine is strong (not original) but does need some seals replaced. This jeep will need some work. Two new seats included in the purchase.”
UPDATE: Ray reported the following about this jeep: I spoke to the seller at length, and this was stretched on a military base and used as a tow vehicle. Its nice, has a lot of extra parts that go with it. Known problems – brakes need gone over, been driving on the farm with no brakes. Motor has a rod knock, sounds like lower engine problem. Rod, the seller, was very forthcoming and seemed very straight forward about it. They got new farm equipment so he wont be using the jeep on the farm any longer.
This 2A has been lengthened to 88″ and the gas tank is in the back. I’d really like to examine the frame. The lack of drain holes and fuel inlet on the driver’s side suggests there’s been at least some body work to this. As far as I know, there’s no documented prototype by Willys-Overland featuring a lengthened 2A, making this most likely some type of custom build. This does not look as stretched as the “CJ-2L”s that we’ve seen in the past, most (all?) of which were on the west coast.

Chris shared this link. The flattie is listed as a 1951, but appears to be an early CJ-2A.
“I have for sale my 1951 and 1961 Willys jeeps. The 1961 runs and drives great, starts every time but the 1951 does need some work. The 1961 jeep has 10000 miles on a complete rebuild. They are both original.”

UPDATE: **Status Unknown** Was $2500.
(12/01/2017) It’s been converted to 4WD, but I don’t see transfer case lever(s)? It was a column shift.
“63 willy’s corrected lighting system, turn and brake lights. New tires, new steering ball joints and alignment. After running motor, found fresh oil dripping out of transmission bell ( where clutch is located ). Discussed situation with other mechanics believed it would be a leaking front main seal on transmission. Removed transmission to find it was the rear main engine seal. Lost time to finish repair due to sale of house. Put trans back in to help hold motor in place to move to WI. Jeep has a 3 speed trans.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
Jim’s got these two trucks for sale. The running truck includes a Warn OD.

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/d/1942-willys-jeep-cj2a/6411562182.html
This might be a 2A with a DJ-3A Body on it (single speedo and no driver side fuel inlet … though it’s missing a rear inlet .. it does appear to have a rear tank).
“This one-of-a-kind 1947 Willy’s Jeep CJ2A still runs great! This Jeep even has NEW tires and NEW brakes! It has 4 wheel drive and a manual transmission. It is in good condition and has a clean title. Asking $4850 or would be open to trading for a Golf Cart.”
