UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
(12/07/2017) I wonder how the plates on the front bumper are used.
“This 1948 Willys Jeep has a clean title. I actually have the original title. It has only had two owners. It has the original 4 cylinder engine. It does need new points and plugs. It also needs the brakes replaced. The new brakes come with it, but do need installed. We are open to fair offers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
It’s a project. I thought at first the hardtop was a Porter & Reed model, but the curved rear of the roof isn’t standard for that model, unless this is some later version that we don’t have documented.
“Rough but a good starting point. No drivetrain. No title but will do a bill of sale, bonded title should be easy on this. Comes with aluminum hardtop and steel doors with glass…..”
There’s still work to be done, but this might be good for the right person.

The next updates will be Monday morning. Have a good rest of your weekend.
The “it can do what others can’t” message of this testimonial pretty much defines the jeep’s niche at this point.
I thought I had a good chance to win this one on eBay, but it slipped away at the last second buy a second bidder. Anyway, it’s a souvenir program of the first national press event for the CJ-2A. Here are some photos.
This was taken a month into the war.
“1950 Press Photo American Troops in jeep with 50 Caliber Gun in Taejon, Korea. This is an original press photo. American troops take a rough Caliber as they advance in jeep armed with 50 caliber machine gun. Communist troops were reported smashing into and around Taejon as battle action see a wed on the Western Korean Front Photo measures 7.25 x 9.25 inches. Photo is dated 07-20-1950.”
Seth shared this Wheatfield High School newsletter called the Jeep Journal and named for the high school’s mascot. The school appears to have closed. According to this source, the high school became known as the “Jeeps” in the 1930s, preceding the introduction of the Jeep.
“For sale is a vintage booklet, Jeep Journal, from Wheatland High School in Wheatland, Indiana. This is the April 7, 1955 “Junior Issue.” It is filled with 10 mimeographed pages of school news. This publication measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches and is in very good condition. It is extremely hard to find”
Roger’s selling this good looking early CJ-6. Contact him at 805.705.5598 or roger@threecreek.com. I bet there aren’t many CJ-6s left with the rare 0-8 King Seeley Speedometer.
“Very good condition red bodywork/white wheels/black floor. Three speed and reverse gearbox. Not totally cosmetically restored but fully functional, garaged indoors and well maintained. New steering components, new seats and belts. All instruments work. New points and condenser, new plugs and new gaskets on transfer case and front/rear differentials. No soft top. Rust free.”
This militarized CJ-6 looks in good shape.

UPDATE: Price dropped to $700.
(12/04/2017) The serial number suggests this is a 1965. It looks to have a Kelly hardtop with Meyer doors?
“I just bought this at an auction last week without a title. It has been sitting a long time. Plate says 1971. Don’t know much about these old jeeps. Please try to figure out model/year etc. from firewall tag. I do not know. The engine seems seized. The floors are rotted & patched but frame & body mounts look very good. The plow set up is bolted on the frame & looks good too. The blade is rotted above cutting blade (but still useable). I have the rear tire chains too. I don’t want to part this out, but I will if it doesn’t sell soon. Just looking for something to plow around my lot. I do not want to have to rebuild the engine.”
