Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have a 1956 willys cj5, 4 cyl 3spd twin stick 4wd. It runs and shifts fine. Needs body work mainly tub work, needs fuel tank. The frame is in good shape and the shackles and axles are original. 1 tire looses air but i just keep it aired up. The seats are in good shape. I purchased it to make a weekend driver, but i have ran out of space and time. New parts included are as followed. New bikini top. New brake master cylinder.”

“I bought this wagon in Phoenix, AZ in 2008 and haven’t gotten around to bringing it back to what it should be so it is time to move it on. This vehicle is in great physical shape and it was running when I parked it. Rust is limited to the driver and passenger floor and tailgate. The floors are the original. The sale comes with a real solid replacement tailgate, bumper and much much more. It also comes with a 1955 donor wagon that has a good frame and lots of parts. Both are titled. Both have new tires and the 55 has original repainted wheels. I have not included pictures of the donor vehicle. The 1950 has an F134, 4 cylinder and the 1955 has a Super Hurricane, 6 cylinder which was also running prior to moth balling. There is a full set of glass for the windows and lots of hard to find parts. This is a must see to appreciate what it is and what goes with it. Feel free to call or text. The body has been stretched to fit the blazer frame. I’m not sure how much value is here.

Nate’s at it again. He got to thinking about upgrading his steering on Ted, his CJ-3A. One thing led to another and soon he was developing a fairly non-invasive (no saginaw-like alterations) way of improving his steering. He’s spent the past month and a half writing it up on the earlyCJ-5 page.

“1952 Willys M38. Flat fender Korean War era Military jeep. Many OEM and NOS parts. Very good “driver” condition. Could be a class A restoration in a few long weekends. 134 “MC” stamped motor with T90 3 Speed transmission. 24v, blackout lights and all gauges work. Open to offers but please no low balls. I’m in no rush to sell.”

“This 1963 Jeep Forward Control 170 (FC-170) was recently acquired by the Kentucky-based selling dealer from its previous owner in Georgia. Power comes from a 226ci Super Hurricane inline-six paired to a 3-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle had been used as a daily driver, and the prior owner installed locking hubs, a new exhaust system, auxiliary gauges, new tail lights, a new fuel tank, carburetor, air cleaner assembly, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, and much more as detailed below. Three months ago, the seller also fitted new period-correct wheels and new tires, re-wired the headlights, and added a new fuel pump, spark plugs, coil, and distributor. The four-wheel-drive system is claimed to work well, and this Jeep is now being offered with a receipt for the seller’s recent service, along with a clean Kentucky title.”
Works for parades. A few years ago a buyer could get a nice MB or GPW for this price.
