Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Tim posted this chassis with a Parkette racing body on it. Price Unknown. Has anyone run across a Parkette racing shell like this in the PNW (with the solid back on top and a dash that rolls down, then curves with the sides? I bet this one came out of Georgia when Paul Parker moved back there, but that’s just a guess.

Nice looking jeep. It’s missing the rear bow holder and the passenger side reflector, but those are minor quibbles.

It has new tires, wiring, gauges, rag top, 8volt electrical system, overhauled transmission etc. This is in very good condition and only has a few miles on it since the restoration. “Lead the Parade! This is a beautiful 1962 Willy’s CJ5 Fire Chief Jeep. Very clean. Clean title. Get comments and thumbs up everywhere it goes. Starts and runs very well. Light and siren are fully operational. New back seat and seat belts. It also has beautiful gold leaf graphics on its fire engine red paint. The interior has been sprayed with a color matched bedliner for additional protection. The only work it will require is a new emergency brake cable.”

This has a body lift of two or three inches, so the body sits off of the frame quite a bit. It is most evident if you look at the photo of the jeep from the rear.

“1942 Willys GPW that has been completely redone! My son and I built this together from 2010-2016. I moved from Pa to Ohio and no longer use the Willys since my son lives in PA.
Modifications:
Engine: less than 300 miles on engine build.
– Sbc 350 4 bolt main block bored and honed to 383.
– Eagle rotating assembly 8.1 compression ratio
– Comp can boost cam. Extremely drivable can.
– Summit racing 2.02 brand new heads
– B&M 144 supercharger
– Carb spacer
– Custom built carburetor for this set up.
– High flow oval air cleaner
– Brand new aluminum flywheel
– Summit block hugger headers
– Custom dual exhaust headers back with flowmaster.
– Boxed frame to handle sbc
– Custom lowered Motor mounts to keep the center of gravity low.
– Nitrous sniper kit. Bottle & purge hooked up. I never hooked it to the Motor, but I’m theory you could if you bought the spacer plate.
– Aluminum looms
– Edelbrock valve covers
– New distributor, cap, rotor, plugs & wires
– New thermostat

For the price it ought to have combat rims. The windshield has worn a spot on the cowl. Given the alternator, it seems to be 12 volt.

“Just putting this out there. I don’t want to sell it for sure. 1953 Willys CJ-3B. The “ugly duckling” of CJ jeeps. Engine, transmission, frame, etc. all original. Original body minus the areas I patched for rust. Patches came from another 3B loaner body. Body and paint in good shape for saying I’m not a professional car guy. Engine has been rebuilt and bored .030 to fix a cracked block. One piston was sleeved. Too much to say about this rig. It’ll take you anywhere you want to go, as long as you’re not in a hurry.”
