She’s still running a 6-volt generator system, she has the original style flat head 4 cylinder, T-90 transmission, Dana 18 transfer case with an overdrive, and I also have a pto to go with her just the gear box that attaches to the transfer case and a original style top bows and door frames. Just need to have the original canvas top made.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $13,500.
Interesting engine choice for a later build. The fact that it appears in a Desert Dog ad is pretty cool!
“This car was raced in the late 70’s and 80’s the last race it completed was in 1990. Glenn Emery built this car as one of the first 4WD 4 wheel independent suspension rear engine vehicle. It has a Buick 215 V8 mated to a Turbo 350 transmission with a B&M shifter. There is a Casal V-drive to get the driveline turned the correct direction mated with a corvette rear pumpkin. The car is rock solid and has a solid start on the restoration. The car is currently street legal and runs, get in it and go have fun. I’m not entirely sure how much travel this car has, but it’s a lot. It can take 2-3 ft whoops at any speed.
My uncle was in the pit crew back in the day when Glenn Emery owned the car. He sold the car to Carl Cook and we tracked the car down a few years ago and found it sitting in a barn. We got it running again and started the restoration. Mickey Thompson has driven and raced this car a few times as well, it is a true timepiece of off road racing. The old pictures have Mickey Thompson in the drivers seat. Life got in the way and we haven’t used it as much as we wanted and it is sitting more than it gets used.

“1943 Willys jeep
This classic jeep was gone through and upgraded in 1998 with a cj2a body and a cj3a windshield on an original ford gpw chassis, rebuilt/upgraded drive train, built to be a reliable and capable off roader. Titled and registered in Colorado.
231 even fire Buick v6 bored .30 over, edelbrock performer manifold with a holly 390cfm 4barrel and a 4 core radiator with manual and electric fans.
Borg-Warner T-86AA synchronized 3spd, Dana 20 t-case, front Dana 30 and the rear is a Dana 44 with a Detroit locker. Axles are stock width with 5.38:1 gear ratio
Mild lift with new springs, all new brake system with 11” drums brakes at all four corners, nice 31-10.50×15 mudders on it now, used to be 32-11.50×15 but they limited the steering radius and did not work well with the Colorado trails.
Saginaw steering box upgrade. Continue reading

“1943 Jeep Willys
Runs and drives 4×4 manual
Has an engine out of a 1953 model
Good breaks just did thermostat and housing.
Could use a good tune up
This is a project vehicle not a show Jeep”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
I’m wondering if this was a DJ-3A body. The “side stripes” are right at the location where the large opening bodies had their slant. Factory T-86? Lacks an engine.
“Solid rust free body and frame. No engine, but it does have the original factory T-86 3-speed transmission and transfer case. This was running a small block Chevy until it was removed earlier this year for another project. Included with the sale is a set of sbc headers and the motor mount plate so that a sbc could be dropped in and bolted right up. This Jeep was a runner up until this year, so it won’t take much other than a motor to have this up and driving. I have the title in hand and it’s clean, clear and in my name.”
Runs.

“This is a stock CJ, 4 cyl flathead, 3 speed transmission, 4×4, It starts, runs and drives and stops it has the factory manual hubs, the four wheel drive works as it should. I have only used it on my property and do not drive it on the street. it is not licensed or titled.
I’m asking $1750 and will consider offers.
Please call only between 8am & 7pm
I do Not text so phone calls only.”
UPDATE: I finally got the Tractor flywheel to release. The key was sheered. Got a key, reassembled, and Mom is mowing the lawn!
We made a quick run up to Seattle yesterday to fix my parents lawn mower and mow the lawn with our mower. To work on the mower, I needed to pull it out of the barn and get it to the garage. My options for moving the John Deere L110 were limited. After considering my options, I decided to enlist Patterson to pull the mower.
It turned out that the mower wasn’t easy to pull up hill, especially when my mother had her foot on the brake. I suggested she jump off the mower. Once she did that, it was much easier to pull, though without low range and only 2WD, it was still a bit of a challenge. Still Patterson persevered. Eventually, we got it in the garage. … who said a DJ-3A isn’t a real jeep?!!??
The mower is proving to be a challenge. It looks like the key has sheered between the flywheel and the crankshaft, keeping the flywheel from releasing off the shaft . I have a good puller and it is still be stubborn.
Anyway, that kept me busy last night, so just a couple updates today.
A reader was wondering if anyone knew what model of Ramsey winch this was? Most of my books are back in Pasco and the internet wasn’t too helpful. Anyone know?
