“What you are looking at is an original CJ3A 1950 Willys Jeep. The Jeep is very complete and the engine is not stuck. I removed the head and inspected the cylinders and valves and they looked great. Then i installed a new head gasket properly sequenced and torqued. I don’t think it would take much to get this Jeep back going. I’m selling this Jeep for someone that has a new house and decided he doesn’t have the time for it. ”
UPDATE: Still Available. I thought it had sold.
(02/02/2018) Jeep isn’t running a the moment. Seller says he is not sure why.

“For sale, Is an amazing 1954 Jeep Willy M170 Frontline Ambulance army jeep, these were also used for radio communication as well. This model is basically a stretched and beefed up version of the more common M38A1 model. Many of the parts are the same and can still be found. Around 4500 of these models were made. Many of them did not return from the Korean Theater. The ambulance version can be seen on the hit series M.A.S.H. This particular unit was stationed in Albany, GA. I’ve had the vehicle since 2006.
-This Jeep has clean title and registration.
-Vehicle did run and drive. I put an electronic ignition. Still have the original Distributer (as well as several NOS parts). Aside from electronic ign electrical system still 24vdc.
– This Jeep has around 18000 miles. Some body damage.
– Tires are 31″ Goodyear MTR. They still hold air.
Has original F-head hurricane motor. Aprox. whopping 75hp. Motor was designed to run underwater. (I wouldn’t recommend) Original fuel tank is missing.
Motor is coupled to the venerable borg warner T90 three speed synchro transmission.
Power is split via a Dana 18 twin stick transfer case. (No PTO). To the dana 25/27 front axle. To the Dana 44 rear axle.
Axles are held in place by reverse shackle multi leaf springs.
Unfortunately, I don’t have time to fool with it. So, now your chance to own a hard to find Army Jeep,”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $900.

“For sale is a 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A. This Jeep came from the state of Wyoming and is probably the nicest original CJ2A you will find. The body condition is in incredible. The only rust is a small portion of a hat channel under the driver seat. I got it running the other day and runs great with no smoke. This Jeep has everything on it that came from the factory. What you see is the original red paint. This would be the perfect Jeep to restore as it is very complete. I also have another CJ2A and a 1964 CJ3B that is in very good condition for sale. All have titles.”

“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A that is ready to enjoy. I have had this for 10 years and kept it in top shape all the time. Stored in the winter and just driving minimally on weekends. I bought this with it needing mechanical work and my son is a mechanic and rebuilt the motor to new stock condition. It was bored, new pistons, rods, bears and completely rebuilt. The old radiator just was not clean enough to keep the motor cooled, so I had the local radiator shop build a brand new radiator to insure cooling for the long term. I installed all new exhaust and brakes to complete it mechanically. The body is in great shape and the interior is like original. In addition, you don’t find these with the tops that are in perfect condition like this. You can keep the sun & rain off while driving to enjoy the ride. Has mirrors, windshield wiper, seat belts and turn signals so it is street legal and ready to go. $9500,”

The 1968 issue had an article that underscores how popular jeeping had become. One event in California, the Desert Safari, organized by the Tierra Del Sol 4wd club, brought in 600 jeeps and over 2500 people. Below is the cover story’s picture.
