“Not much is known about the history of this little MUTT except that it was an original Ford built M151A1, produced in 1965.

On the back is a rather elaborate electrical generation set up, that includes replacement of the transmission with another generator unit. Power comes from what is believed to be a Continental flat head 4 cyl. The vehicle moves by an Autronic Unit transfer gear set-up that hangs off the front of the small “jeep”. “I have decided to part ways with this project and invest in something else. The red unit is a cab/box, the gray is a chassis unit serial 10265 (VERY EARLY SERIAL).

Neither trucks have titles. Both engines appear to be locked up. The red engine won’t budge, and the gray one appears to be frozen as well, but I haven’t taken much time on it. The rear end on the gray one seems to be locked up, so I have rigged up a trailer axle for rolling/transporting. No glass for either one. The red unit has a box that is in rough shape, but could be saved. Between the two, there should be more than enough to patch one together, or supply parts for your other project.

Re-posting these Jeeps because I had someone in the Jeep community commit to picking these up over 2 months ago, and decided not to get them after all. First $1500 in my hands gets both.

“Hi, I’m helping my dad sell his entire collection of military jeeps. They are located in Baraga mi there in a barn with a concrete floor. They been sitting a very long time.They do not run. They need total restoration and there is alot of parts that come with them.

1st jeep is a 1963 M170 ambulance. It was from Nevada. In my opinion this is a extremely solid jeep. No rust areas it has the hurricane 4 cylinder engine that did run. The engine is not the original one though.

There are 2 1954 M38A1 jeeps. One (pictured) is a 2 seat hard top. The body is in good condition no rust out but at one time some rust repair was done. The engine ran great in this one. The other M38A1 is not complete. No engine or trans mission. Continue reading →
