Much work has been completed. More work to be done.
https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/d/1947-willys-cj2a-project/6691743918.html
“This is a 1947 cj2a project that I sadly just dont have the time or money to finish. The rolling chassis is done and has the engine transmission and transfer case. All parts have been sandblasted epoxy primed and painted with a high quality automotive paint. Axles have been gone through, new bearings were installed where needed. The engine has all new gaskets and was rebuild sometime before I owned it, nice crosshatching on the cylinder walls. All new brakes, everything new. New rancho 2.5 inch lift leaf springs.
The bumpers are 1/4 inch rectangular tube cut to look the same as stock. New stock exhaust and radiator(done after pictures were taken). I have a tub that is in good condition but still needs work done to it, it has a new rear floor and rear panels. I have two hoods one in fair shape the other is in good shape, the windshield frame I have is very nice for the age and has glass in it. Also have the grill and drivers fender, missing the passenger fender and tailgate. I have a buch of miscellaneous parts including a heater also and a new plastic fuel tank. Also have both front seats. This does have a clear title in my name.”
Maybe someone can use? Cage looks good.

Maury had a chance to meet with Doc James the other day, a many who started Ironman Restorations in Pickens, South Carolina, (On Facebook) by buying out the world’s most successful jeep dealer. Maury explains:
“I had the pleasure of visiting Ironman’s shop a couple of weeks ago, which is located a little over an an hour from my house. Having talked with David on the phone several times, I’d hoped to get to meet him, but he had to be away that particular day.
David’s dad Doc, who started Ironman around 40 years ago, was there and showed me around a bit. He also told me the story of how they got started. In the 1970’s, Doc customized jeeps for Larry Hinkle, who owned Hinkle’s Jeep Inc. in Pickens, SC, which at that time was the largest jeep dealership in the entire country.
http://archive.independentmail.com/business/when-mega-dealerships-ruled-pickens-man-was-king-ep-414322179-349805391.html/ (Ed Note: the article is an interesting read)
When Hinkle’s went out of business in the early ’80’s, Doc bought Mr. Hinkle’s entire parts yard. This formed the basis of what is today Ironman’s extensive collection of vintage parts jeeps, which over time was further expanded into what it is today.
A few photos are below showing some of the collection, which winds its way far back into the woods around the James’ shop. They and their staff are very friendly people who go out of their way to help their customers find the parts they need.”
This is one I hadn’t seen.

“WWII Willys MB.
This vehicle is fairly complete but not running. 134Lhead motor, T84 transmission and transfer case. The body has been modified with a hard top and other unique additions. Over all this is a great vehicle for parts etc. Good running gear, front rear and original GI Ross stearing box. The parts are worth alot so $1500 takes it. I’m looking for the title but if not found I can do a notarized bill of sale.”
Nice, stock jeep.

“About 15+ years ago I fixed the 1959 FC-150 to use on our property.
I put in a 2000cc Ford overhead cam engine.
Rebuilt the transmission
New brake linings for parking brake on transfer case.
All new steel brake lines & flexible lines; wheel cylinder; master cylinder; brake shoes.
Radiator was recored; switched to 12V, etc.
Wife used it to haul water for garden; take away branch clippings and some firewood.
Has been parked under cover since then.
Runs, drives, stops.
Heater core has developed small leak. Believe intermediate bearing in transfer case is bad.
Has non-original seats.
Does have lower body rust. Pickup bed is pretty solid and straight.
Kids shot up passenger side glass and put a few BB marks on back window.
I have 2 FC doors with glass that will go with it.
Have a New York State transferable registration.”

“Priced reduced.
Selling my ’58 Willys Jeep 4 wheel drive. – Runs, Drives, Stops. Engine = 134 ci 4cyl. – 60 year old. I bought it for hunting but hunting, I replaced the original engine with a professional rebuilt. Spent some time in Santa Maria/Ocean dunes before I got it So, Yes there is rust. Good farm/ranch/hunting use but would not recommend for highway use. Top Speed about 55mph. Current tags/license/title
Odometer reads 5xxx but I know it was replaced (not original) I think from a later model CJ5.”

“Don’t make me turn this into a yard art planter. 1952 Willys Model CJ3-A, I believe, but with a slightly later F134 OHV Hurricane engine. Pto transmission.
Drivetrain is complete – interior is your open canvas! No serious rust, very solid. I do have two foldable seats you can also have if you like. Thought I wanted a cool project but then reality caught up. I did get it cleaned up and running – sounded great – but just don’t have the facilities/tools/know how at this time to continue. Wishful thinking! NO TITLE NO TITLE NO TITLE! Call/text or come have a look but please don’t waste my time. There will be no email/internet nonsense, cash in person only.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $380. I’ve contacted the seller and explained what he had (apparently, someone else had called him, too). He’d like to find this a good home.
(08/02/2018) This is likely the only Muller top to be found that’s not installed on a jeep (See the directions for making a Muller top here). It’s a great piece of history.
“Selling a hard/soft top for a M-38 CJ-3A or Dispatcher Jeep. I’ve never seen another top like this one before. My dad bought this over 30 yrs ago to put on his flatfender. But it never was installed. And now I own the Jeep but it won’t fit over the cage. It’s got a metal/wood frame it looks like a soft top from the outside but is full framed with a headliner. The doors and side, rear windows all store in a compartment inside the roof . No tears or rust it’s dirty but it’s been stored indoor’s as long as we’ve owned it. I’m running out of room so it’s up for sale”
Rick shared this CJ-5 with some unusual Desert Dog tires (tires aren’t shown on this ad) and some usual spring helpers. Maybe the dogs are very early ones?

“Its built from a bunch of different parts but basically a 47 2A with an F head. Stock axles, 2.5 lift springs and new 35″ tires. Runs and drives good. Put 500 hyway and trail miles on it last summer. It will go 55mph but it struggles with hills. Not a restoration or show jeep. It has scratches, dents and bondo. This was built for trail riding and cruising around town. I have a modified cj5 steel half cab for it too. ”
Listed as a 1947, it’s got the tool indents of an early ’46.

Some better pics would be helpful.
“Family member bought this Jeep in 2009, gave it TLC for 4 years, including new tires, spoke rims, brakes, steering and lights. It has been driven very little since made road worthy. It had sat in a barn for 10 years before 2009.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
Terry also has an M-100 trailer for sale.
“1955 BANTAM trailer good solid condition , no rot, road ready and legal . $1200 or best offer . Also have an M100 trailer watch for ad”
UPDATE: UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
Mike noted that this might have been used by the military. I’ve added a pic of the unusual dash stickers.
Appears worth a look. The windshield has some excess lean to it.
“Runs good; lots of fun. Was used by family and friends for hunting. Perfect for mountain or desert retreat. Needs some TLC”
