About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

“Stock axles, tranny and transfer case. Previous owner swapped a 225 buick oddfire V6 in it, turns over fine just haven’t had the time to fire it up. I have a new fuel tank to go with it as well as a spare tranny and transfer case and other misc parts. Message me with any questions, thanks”
(07/17/2018) The body looks to be a DJ-3A body. I don’t see anything that suggest this was a 1943 MB/GPW.
“I have a 1943 Willys for sale. It is in excellent condition. It has 20,200 miles on it! I have a second set of black Willys wheels with military tires for it as well. Paint is a year old. I have the doors for it. It has the original drivetrain.(Go devil flathead engine, t90 transmission with Warn overdrive!). I have a tow bar for it, so it can be pulled behind a truck or r.v. This is the 18th and most favorite Jeep I’ve owned. I don’t have to sell, but I’m moving in a couple of weeks, so the cash would be helpful in the coming months. This jeep will not disappoint you! I will consider reasonable offers, but please don’t lowball me”
Vernon asked me about doing a Hatari related post. Now, put your coffee down before I say this … ready … I have never seen Hatari. Now that we are past that issue …
I spent some time looking for a way to watch the movie. It turns out there’s a website devoted to helping people find movies on different platforms: https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/hatari . In the end, it appears the cheapest way for me to watch it is to rent it through Amazon or head to a local library in search of a copy. In the mean time, the trailer is available via Youtube:
To see some jeep photos, I highly recommend the CJ-3B page’s coverage of the movie. As Derek notes in his article, Jeep claimed there were 43 different jeeps used for the movie, including CJ-6s, FCs, CJ-3BS, Wagons, and Trucks and perhaps a few others?
(08/01/2018) Has a little bit of rust. Has Cutlas Powerlock hubs.
“This Jeep has been in the family since 1950, but it is time to let it go. It is not all original, the windshield is off a CJ3A, the rims are 15s not 16s, the tires are not military tread, converted to 12 volt, and the tire mount is on the tailgate not on the side. The motor though is the original 70 horse go devil motor and as far as I know has been rebuilt once. I think it may need to be done again as it smokes some on occasion.
It has a couple of rust spots and a few dents, but so would you if you were 70 years old! This old jeep just needs some TLC and it will be good to go. I just drive it around town in the summer, probably put less than a hundred miles a year on it but don’t know for sure since the speedometer hasn’t worked for almost 40 years. New head gasket last year and new hoses, belts, etc. Have custom made canvas top and spare tire, but the tire is probably older than me. All negotiations must be in person, thanks.”

“I have a non-running 1948 Willys Jeep that is mainly for parts (or for an adventurous restorer). It has an excellent grill, hood, radiator, gas tank, tail gate, front and rear differentials, drive shafts, wheels and seat frames. I would categorize the frame as good to very good. The front fenders can be repaired. The tub is junk. The windshield is pretty much junk. The motor looks ok but will not turn over at this time. I have oil in the spark plug holes. The oil in the motor looks ok. The transmission and transfer case shifters move in and out of gear. I have taped things up to keep the mice out. I also have a home made top and doors for the Jeep that can be purchased for an extra $100. I would like $1200 for the old girl.”

TJ shared the news that a modified 1946 CJ-2A will be raffled in August of 2019 to raise money for the Oregon Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of American. I’m not sure when the tickets will go on sale, but I’ll try to give an update when they do. (The 2018 Raffle vehicle was a 1959 Chevy Truck).
Oh my. Great price! Looks like Patterson’s doppleganger. I wonder if it includes a convertible top?

Low miles on professionally rebuilt 4 cylinder. 3 speed manual transmission (w/overdrive) on column. Coker white wall radials. Older repaint, but shines nice! After-market seat belts installed.
