About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“Here is an old Willys Sedan Delivery I have had for 25 years intending to build a hot rod. She has moved all over Texas and been in numerous shops and storage facilities, but its time to let someone with more gumption than I take her. If there is interest, I would sell her or trade/partial trade for a jetski. THe body is remarkably straight, but she is getting rustier each year. TIme to let her go. Email with your cell number and I will talk/text with you or just email is fine. Give me your addy and I will reciprocate fairly quickly.”

(07/26/2011) Lots of updates to this wagon, but it looks like it could use some new paint.
“1958 Jeep Willys Sedan delivery customized 2 wheel drive. This Jeep was customized back in the early 1970s. Has AMC 290 V8 engine with automatic transmission and V8 AMC rear end. Jeep does have air conditioning but it does need charged. Received a new set of Keystone classics and BF Goodrich T/A tires in 2008. All drivetrain components were out of a 1969 Javelin. This Jeep was driven daily in Florida up until the mid 1980s and has been parked until 2008. Ready to drive but does need restored because of lacquer paint showing its age. Jeep has spent its entire life in Florida until 2008. Does have some rust but less than most its age. Front end tilts for easy access to the motor.”
(03/01/2011) This looks pretty good for the price. There are some minor rust issues.
“This is a MUST SEE!! Great Deal!!

“Very rare Willys Sedan Delivery. There are some sheet metal issues, but replacement panels are available. Perfect for someone with a little body shop experience. Engine is a Chev 307 V8 w/Turbo 400 automatic. Axles are from a Waggoneer providing decent road gearing vs. original Jeep low ratio. (06/04/2010) This is an interesting project … a wagon on a camaro foundation.
“This 1953 Willys has a Chevy 400 small block in it. It is 2WD. It has a 67 Camaro subframe under it. The underneath is rust free, very solid. This came up from North Carolina. It runs and drives. It is very rare Sedan Delivery. (724) 239-5648 or (724) 986-6285.”

UPDATE II: Here’s another 1950 Salgittzer brochure from Germany, but it is only four pages. Thanks to Jan for sharing it! This makes three different 1950 brochures.
========================
July 12th UPDATE: I received both of the Salzgitter brochures I purchased out of Germany. The 1950 brochure is a version lacks several of the pages shown in the brochure at the very bottom. The 1949 brochure is a tiny (1/4 sheet-size) one-page brochure.
“’61 Willys Station wagon with running GM 350 motor, straight body, stock T90 transmission, Dana 18 twin stick transfer case, Dana 27 front differential with Warn locking hubs, Dana 44 rear differential, spring over setup for extra ground clearance, rear double barn doors, original rear bumper with “WILLYS” script, 2 Jerry cans side rackets, roof mounted CB radio antenna, winch mount in front bumper assembly, with clear title. Also have video of motor running and vehicle driving. $8,400″
UPDATE I From July 11/2021: This video was shared by the Goddess herself, Deborah. It used the 1954 Willys Export Company’s brochure as the lens through which is shows the variety of jeeps in this movie clip (in color no less). You can learn more about the various forms of this brochure below. This brochure did not have a form number.

Originally posted January 12, 2020: As noted by Edgar Kaiser in 1955, one of the key reasons Kaiser bought Willys’ assets was that Kaiser didn’t feel Willys-Overland was pursuing the consumer market aggressively enough. As a part of Kaiser’s strategy to move that direction, the company created a wide variety of brochures, folders, direct mail pieces, product booklets, post cards, a Jeep family 16mm movie, and other merchandising materials.
Much of these documents have been scanned and available on the internet, but no one (that I’ve seen) has assembled them together to see what items were available at the time the CJ-5 launched.
So, consider this a draft towards that goal, as I still have some more scanning and locating of documents so I can interlink everything together.
To begin, here is one of the earliest examples of the Kaiser Willys team creating a standardized family of similar brochures that highlight each of the models. Nearly all the first wave of documents were created in 1954. How do we know this? Because the January 1955 Kaiser Willys Sales and Dealer News highlighted these merchandising aides:
Here’s an order form from 1955. It’s form numbers for the ‘vehicle folder’ brochures match those shown in the photo below this order form.
Here’s a photo from an ebay post that shows all the vehicle ‘folder’ brochures together (the form numbers I have for the vehicle brochures below match the numbers on the order form above). I only have 7 of the 10 brochures, or I’d take a photo of my own like this.
Below are some various brochure covers from the twenty-plus page brochures ….. (Note, one promotional document not listed in the order form was the Willys Story, 1950-1954).
“1955 jeep whilly panel wagan clean title no damage no accidents not sure about the miles not at vehicle right now, automatic trans,350 engine new tires new battery runs an handles great can be seen by appointment gives me time to get to vehicle”
On Friday I received a Willys-Overland Equipment Book binder that I won on eBay. The book contained a few surprises, such as a 4-page Monroe brochure and a number of early Newgren brochures that rarely hit eBay. The main part of the binder, a collection of 1947 equipment brochures, appears to be as complete as I’ve seen. In addition, at the back of the book, are second-supplement 10-1-1949 brochures that are either updated versions or new brochures. It is so packed with brochures that I will need to remove some to make sure none get damaged. I ended up pay $128.50 and that proved to be a good value.
The biggest surprise was the inclusion of a note from the seller, Nancy, mentioning how this booklet came from her father. The note was thoughtful enough that I reached out to learn more about him.
I learned that Richard H. Malone was from Westport Island, Maine. He received his bachelors at the University of Pennsylvania, then served in Vietnam. After the war, he raced cars and motorcycles. He and his wife were so passionate about motorcycles that they owned Honda dealerships in Brunswick and in Portland, Maine. They were also both passionate about jeeps, owning jeeps from Willys to modern jeeps and all models in-between. Before her death, Nancy’s mother sold a “panel-sided” jeep, which I’d guess was a Willys Delivery Sedan, under the condition that the new owner had to have a garage for it! Nancy still has her mother’s 2001 Grand Cherokee.
So, as the temporary custodian for this binder, I’ll add a note to it about it belonging to Richard H. Malone, as he deserves credit for preserving this history for us.
This is a good price for all these brochures. I already have all but the 3B brochure, otherwise I would have gotten it.

Later, In May of 1950, a new seller, Jackson County Motor Company, appeared. Perhaps, not coincidently, Jackson County Motors launches on the same highway (HWY 90) as Coast Cities Motor Sales had been located.
Prior to Coast Cities Motors Sales. jeep dealer Caver-Wiggins advertised from July 1946 to November 1947 in the Chronicle Star. Subsequently, in a corporate restructuring, Runnel-Wiggins became the main seller/advertiser. Runnel-Wiggins ran ads from November of 1947 through April of 1948. No additional information appeared in the Chronicle Star about Runnel-Wiggins.
After April, the next Jeep ad for 1948 was the December 10th, 1948 ad by Coast Cities Motors. Whether Coast Cities Motor Sales was related to the previous dealer isn’t clear, as they were located in a different places.
Below are some Coast Cities Motor Sales ad example:
December 17, 1948 & January 07, 1949: Pascagoula’s New Dealer For The World’s Most Useful Vehicles (The ad shown is actually the January 07 ad. The December 17, 1948, ad has only minor text differences from the January ad. This is a long one-column ad, so it’s been chopped to better fit the page)
January 14, 1949: Announcing … Another Home for the World’s Most Useful Vehicles
