UPDATE ON ME: Like Lazarus, I have risen once again to rejoin the living! Whoo hoo!
For my first post back, I doubt Willys Overland could have paid a reviewer for a better review of their wagon. This review was featured in the February, 1947 issue of Mechanix Illustrated that I bought off of eBay.
Also, thanks go to several readers who donated funds prior to Christmas. This allowed me to purchase multiple items, including all the brochures/articles featured since Christmas Eve.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
This has a few floor patches and a body lift. Looks solid.

“I’m thinking of selling my 1978 Jeep Viasa CJ6. Its a Spanish made CJ6 by visa with a SOFIM 74hp Diesel engine in it. I purchased it over in Italy and brought it back. Been slowly Jeep-a-sizing it but I’ve got 2 teenagers now and would like to see it go to a good Jeeper. No tire kickers please. If there is another version of this Viasa Jeep in the US I’d be surprised, pretty cool ride.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8000.
(11/20/2018) This one is worth a look.
“Im selling this beautiful Kia Red Metallic 1949 jeep Willys Overland wagon. New speedometer cable, Oil pump and oil lines, Arm rests, door panels, All new fluids, etc. etc. Upgraded to a 12 volt system with under dash fuse box. All new glass and rubber seals, Window channel felt and weather seals. Triple gauge set installed. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,000.
This looks to be a very clean and thoughtful refurb.
“Complete restoration. As new condition”
TJ shared this truck with a 1982 2.3 liter Peugot engine in it and featured on Barn Finds a couple days ago. It lacks four wheel drive due to non-matching RP ratios in the front and back.
https://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/d/portland-1962-willys-jeep-pickup-turbo/6773827527.html

The rear of this has been stretched. It includes kennels for hunting dogs. This was for sale back in 2013, but there were not pics of it at the time. This is how the seller described it in that post: “1955 Willys quail jeep with stretch body. Dog boxes and high rise back set and front scouting seats mounted to front bumper. Not perfect or pretty, but runs strong and gets the job done.”
“Runs good changed out the condenser points and rotary button fuel tank needs to be cleaned and it will be ready to hunt again it’s a cj3b”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
It doesn’t run, but appears to have potential.
“Up for sale is a non running 1957 cj5.
Have 2 motors with parts. It did run awhile ago my grandpa bought it for deer hunting. It was a military surplus jeep. It was sitting in a barn for 15 years and the motor got stuck. Tore that motor apart and it needs to be rebuildt. Bought another motor which welded a bearing so that motor needs work to. I have both of the heads as well as one clean good block which were all gone through by an engine rebuilder and are good to go. Also have a rebuilt starter and a new gasket set as well as new spark plugs. Both motors ran at one point I have all the parts that I took off. I also have a tow bar, and other various parts as well as the title.”

<– Day 21 – Saturday May 19th: Mr. Infamous (Alaska Or Rust Presentation)
UPDATE: I’m still sick so no updates. We made it back to Pasco, where we will stay a few days before heading back to Seattle to help with Dad. In the meantime, Luciano updated the video of Hugo below by adding English subtitles for the Portuguese. Enjoy!
Original post November 14, 2018: On Sunday this video debuted at the Premiere Auto Show in Brazil at the Auto Show’s Jeep Booth. It features our good friend and co-Alaska participant Hugo Vidal. It’s mostly in Portuguese, but some is in English. You’ll see both my wife and I appearing in several clips. The title refers to Hugo as the First Citizen of Jeep Nation. Kudos to Luciano Falconi for his great videography.
Hugo also recently published a book on his trip, written in both English and Portuguese. http://www.ewillys.com/…/26/hugo-vidal-has-published-his-b…/
<– Day 21 – Saturday May 19th: Mr. Infamous (Alaska Or Rust Presentation)
Santa brought me the flu for Christmas Eve….. Thanks Santa! So, between that and helping my parents, I am taking another day off. We head back to Pasco for a few days, so I’ll be able to catch up at that time.
UPDATE: Still Available.
(10/23/2018) The modern engine fits well. Lots of extra ‘cage’ surrounding this one.

“1949 Willys CJ3a. Has a 4.3 liter 2006 Chervolet fuel injected engine with less than 12000 miles. T90 3 speed transmission, Ford Ranger Steering box.”
Several months ago a reader purchased a product merchandising manual with over four hundred pages, used by the Willys Motors marketing department. Over the succeeding months, we scanned and assembled this into a PDF. I’m dating it at 1955 because it introduces the new CJ-5. It’s not entirely complete, but there’s lots in it.
I’d like to thank the generous reader for making this available to everyone! I wish everyone the best for 2019!!
