Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is an exceptional 1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A. It is completely original with only 18,668 documented miles. It is painted it’s original colors of Normandy Blue with Luzon Red trim. It is equipped with WARN OVERDRIVE and lock out hubs. It is capable of 62 MPH and gets 31 MPG. Original equipment includes drawbar, 11 ” brakes, chrome package, turn signals and electric wipers. Recently installed new parts include shocks, springs, seals , bushings and steering stabilizer. The vinyl top is in very good condition. This show winner is also an excellent driver. It is being offered for sale by it’s second owner due to a need to downsize his vehicle collection. Valuable owner/service manuals and sales literature are included in this sale.”

“1952 CJ3A runs, drives, brakes, licensed and driven every year during good weather.
Has rear seat, Harrison heater, 6 volt, roll-bar, lap belts, IH front locking hubs, and original drive-train. New kingpin bearings and races, a new aluminum radiator, a new thermostat, NOS oil bath air cleaner parts. 4WD works great drives very well even without lockers. Like all 67 year old jeeps this is continuous work in progress, but very enjoyable to drive.
1955 CJ5 mostly a parts vehicle.
Includes: frame, axles, F134 motor block (needs total rebuild), transmission, transfercase (will need rebuilding), Koenig Iron works full top and doors (door glass intact, top missing glass). Has fenders, hood and grill, the tub is shot.
I want this to be a package deal, I am going to go in a different direction and would like to get rid of my Jeeps and parts.

“1951 Willys Kaiser flat fender, ran 5 years ago mostly original, has parts to add a PTO, extra tailgate, extra gas tank, extra tires, flat head four cylinder 3 speed manual transmission and high/low, 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive transfer case, vintage nos side steps, and rare original rear seat. “1950s Willy’s Jeep. This Jeep has almost all of its original body parts and all of it original drivetrain besides the motor. It also has both front bucket seats and the frame for the original rag top including the frames for the rag doors. The floors are rusted along with the rockers. This Jeep would make a great parts Car or make a cool rat rod.”

Delmar Roos invented and Willys Overland patented this dual-driving-axle suspension on November 27, 1941.
According to the patent, “‘This invention relates to spring suspension for motor vehicles, and more particularly to vehicles of heavy duty or commercial type wherein the four rear wheels are mounted on tandem driving axles.
One of the principal objects of the invention is to provide means of mounting or connecting the axles to the chassis frame in such a manner so as to permit independentl vertical movement of the axles with respect to the frame without setting up undue strains in the connecting means, or materially restricting the vflexibility of the springs as the vehicle travels upon rough or uneven road surfaces or terrain.”
This “Frangible Frame All-Purpose-Farm Implement 2” was filed by Albert H. Stockmar on September 5, 1945.
According to the patent, “The principal object of the present invention is to provide a composite agricultural machine which is capable in a single operation of performing a plurality of related functions such as cutting sta ks. listing beds, leveling beds, planting seed and placing fertilizer.
Another important object of the invention is to provide a composite agricultural machine of the type described wherein the supporting frame is constructed substantially entirely of welded metal tubing which may be relatively inexpensively produced and which will require a minimum of maintenance attention in operation.”

“I purchased this Willy’s several months ago as a long term project for a relative. They’ve chosen not to take it on and now it could be your project.
The pictures speak for themselves, no engine or transmission. The frame is straight and solid, while the body is in decent condition for an almost 70 y/o vehicle. Some small rust areas, but shouldn’t be a big issue for the right person with fabricating skills. There’s no title.

We have returned to Seattle for the next week. Dad landed back in the hospital and we are working through where to proceed from here. So, there may be some spotty updates the next few days.
Thanks to Mitch Carter for dropping by and joining the Eilers Clan Tuesday evening. There were many Wandering-Willys-Jeep-Club-old-member updates. We also laughed over some old jeep stories. Mitch plans to attend this year’s FC-Roundup for the first time. Depending on decisions related to Dad, Ann and I may also make a quick trip up from Tucson to attend on Saturday (we will be mostly down in Tucson visiting a military buddy of Ann’s she hasn’t seen since Khobar) .. stay tuned!
