A patent for a Mechanical Bola was patented on September 23, 1952, by B.D. Manning with the purpose of helping a single person rope and manage cattle. The drawing reminds me of the early modified Texas hunting jeeps like this one.
“A peculiar trait of such cattle is their curiosity with respect to motor vehicles. They soon become accustomed to jeeps, for example, and will come up to examine one, particularly if the motor is running. One can drive right up to a bunch of cattle in a jeep, without any of them taking the trouble to move, so long as the driverstays in the car.
With the device of my invention attached to aj eep or other auto vehicle, it is a simple matter to capture a single animal without waste of time, or if it becomes necessary to inspect or treat a large number of cattle for Screw-Worm or other disease, this may be done expeditiously, for if the rest runoff at the casting of one animal curiosity brings them back shortly if the driver moves his vehicle about a bit.”

This ad by the American Thermos Bottle Company was published in the May 22, 1943, issue of the Saturday Evening Post. I believe the takeaway from this ad is, If Thermos products are good enough for workers building jeeps, than they are good enough for the average American. However, there seems to be a lack of evidence that Willys and Ford employees were using Thermos products.
Seller is asking $650, but will accept offers.

“This is a heavy duty utility bed installed on a 1959 FC 150 in 1959. I have all the mounts and the refurbished fuel tank. Tailgate is included. It is everything you need to put a service box on your FC 150. It will fit others but I have all the mounts for the FC. I am doing a restoration on this truck and decided to go with the regular bed. It is in great shape for being 60 years old. FC 150 not included. It is heavy and must be picked up in So California.”
Not sure there is anything worth saving on this poor fire victim.

This stainless roadster was spotted for sale by Roger Martin. It’s an interesting build to look at, but I have been told that caution should be taken when dealing with the seller (Gateway Classic Cars).

Paul’s selling his modified CJ-5. The frame has been reinforced with extra plates.
https://santafe.craigslist.org/cto/d/santa-fe-1978-jeep-cj-5-rock-crawler/6852422411.html
“This Jeep – hands down – will allow you to out-run the Zombie Apocalypse in style.
1978 Jeep CJ-5, 6-cylinder, 2-barrel carb., HEI electronic ignition, disc brakes.
The 1977-79 model year CJ-5 is considered THE jeep for rock crawling, owing to what is the sturdiest frame ever used on a CJ. These year Jeeps used box frame rails (versus C-channel construction). In addition, this particular CJ’s frame has been reinforced further with plate steel. To say this Jeep is hardy is an understatement; it’s designed for the serious off-roader.
Upgrades include oversize aluminum radiator, Ranchero RS5000 shocks, plate-steel reinforcement throughout including the cargo area, removable rear cargo rack, Hi-lift Jack.
If you are looking to buy a CJ-5 then you know this one is priced to sell quickly. No rust, no mechanical issues, just jump in and go, it needs nothing.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000.
