“This is your chance to get rust free resto-mod Colorado iconic CJ-3B! An awesome winter project for you.
It’s been in my family since the 60’s. Mostly restored with many upgrades. Full flanged Dana 44 rear from 1971 CJ-5, narrow track Dana 35 with disc brakes up front. Rebuilt 225 Buick Dauntless V6 from S&B engines. Rebuilt TH350 automatic (don’t get me started about the A/T…) could easily be converted back to a manual. Sorry don’t have the original trans anymore. Comes with Koenig hardtop and doors. The hardtop and doors need new glass.
This is being sold as a project in process! I’ve got too many other irons in the fire for now. You must know how to wrench to get this beauty back on the trail. Serious inquiries only.”
It’s not a ’58 based on the dash.

“Hello! For sale is my 1947 Willy’s Jeep Project. Currently rolling, but not running, it was summer project but I no longer have the tools to finish it. The tub is from a 1947 Willy’s CJ2A, and it has the original seats, steering, gauges, and front axle. It has a larger Ford 8.8 Rear End to accompany the 5.3L LS Engine in the front and the 4-speed 4L60E auto transmission in the middle. Will be a great project for someone to finish!

UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was $7500.
This is a project. The seller sold an FC-150 last week.
“Selling a 1959 Jeep FC170. IT HAS A 289 FORD ENGINE WITH A C4 TRANSMISSION.
Also comes with a extra running gear from a Chevy Blazer. Myself would prefer to keep the jeep running gear under it. The blazer running gear would give it a higher highway speed.
Only selling because I just DO NOT have time to finish it as it does need some TLC.
It runs drives and stops and 4 wheel drive works. Does have the normal jeep rust but not as much as most.”
Lots of custom work here.

UPDATE: Modeler builder Frederic Dete plans to create a model of this Mobile Cinema jeep and trailer. He’d like to make contact with David, but I no longer have his email. If he could contact me, I’ll put you in touch with Frederic.
Original Post Apr 27, 2013: David was going through his father’s items and discovered photos of his father’s Mobile Cinema Unit in New Guinea.
This patent application used a jeep to demonstrated how the endless track system would work on a vehicle not designed specifically for tracks. The patent was filed January 13, 1955.
According to inventor Fritz Riemerschmid, “Numerous constructions of the track! laying or crawler type have heretofore been proposed, but in all of these known cases special-type vehicles are involved, the construction of which either prohibits or renders extremely difficult the use of the vehicle under normal road and travel conditions.
Accordingly it is one of the main objects of the present invention to provide a crawler-type tracklaying undercarriage for automotive vehicles which, while being particularly suitable for travel over snow-covered terrain, can be quickly and easily substituted for the standard wheels of the vehicle. It is another object of the invention to provide a construction of the type indicated in which, except for the removal of the said standard wheels from the vehicle, requires no structural changes to be made in a given vehicle. Thus, the invention renders it possible, whenever it may be desired, to provide an automotive vehicle of any given type with a tracklaying mechanism which takes the place of the standard wheels on which the said vehicle normally travels.”
