Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1952 m38 willys. Nice little jeep. Body is in great shape. It was takin all apart and rebuilt about 4 or 5 years ago. Engine was rebuilt. New side panels. New wiring. Has led tail lights and a 7 way trailer plug. Could use New tires, but they still do the job. Runs great. Two things that need attention are, the amp meter and output shaft seal on the transmission. The amp meter did work, so probably an easy fix. The seal isn’t even necessary to do. But the small drip has saturated the park brake band, so the park brake is pretty much useless. Parts to fix it are cheap, I just never cared to do it. Oh the seats are also not the best. They’re not stock. They’re out of a 65 mustang. Factory replacement seats aren’t exactly cheap, so I never bothered. It’s a fun little rig for the summer time. Clear title in hand. Thanks for looking.”

“Just rescued from the farm! Way cool, completely original plow Jeep with a Koenig Iron Works hard top. Engine is stuck, but I don’t think it’s badly stuck because the carb is freely functioning. This is a great foundation for a restoration and priced right.”

Just a heads up, we will be leaving Thursday for the PNW4WDA Summer Convention in Ethyl, WA, but still have a variety of things to accomplish, so there might not be any updates until early next week. It depends on connectivity (seems like there was some the last time I was there).
You may remember that in early 2020, just before the first Covid surge, I’d been invited to join Claus and several of his friends on a flat fender trip through the southwestern African country of Namibia. I missed out on that opportunity, not only due to Covid, but also a whole range of family health issues made any type of extended journey impossible.
In 2022, Claus and his friends completed a tour of Namibia, with an excellent videographer in tow. The resulting montage from that trip has been wound into an excellent video. It looks like quite an adventure over some amazing scenery! Thanks for sharing Claus!

“Cool classic vintage 1965 Jeep CJ5 4×4 with orginal 4cly engine and 3spd manual trans with dual range transfer stick. Has been restored to its glory with a set of corvette seats.(Have originals in great shape) Nice new wheels and over sized tires and a little winch on the front, also has removable half doors. Upgraded disc brakes in the front, It’s a very solid little jeep. Runs and drives great for being a 1965. It’s themed the “red rider” gets alot of attention. Very fun to drive. These were never ment for highway speeds so I wouldn’t recommend driving it on the freeway if you’re out of town. It’s geared low and is a blast to drive! Has a good clean washington title in hand.
