Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have acquired a collection of 10 Willys Jeeps from my WWII Veteran friend that passed away. Most of the Willys Jeeps would be great parts Jeeps or even good candidates for full restorations. The collection can be sold as a package for a discount or the vehicles can be sold separately.
I have two 1943 Willys MB’s. The first was a army parade vehicle. Excellent condition. The second MB has had the T-84 transmission overhauled along with a new clutch and the general restoration is half done.
The other models available are a 1947 CJ-2A, 1948 CJ-2A, 1950 CJ-3A, 1963 CJ-3B along with several others.”

It fires up strong and runs like a top.
Cons: doors don’t line up as well as they should, but they still latch strong, paint is a 10 footer.”

“1947 CJ2A Willy’s Jeep. This jeep was redone about 20 years ago and was stored inside most of the time since. Flat head 4 cylinder engine, 6 volt electrical, buddy seat in back, 4 seat belts, side mounted spare tire, tow bar for towing behind other vehicle. Factory 3 speed with hi/low range and 2 or 4 wheel drive. What I believe to be all factory engine. Mechanical fuel pump, 6 volt electrical system, canister oil filter, oil bath air cleaner. Starts and runs good, drives good.”

The seller included a pic of the serial number. You’ll note an “S” in the middle of the two number sets. That means it had smog equipment.

Last winter I was standing in my driveway when a guy I didn’t recognize pulled up and asked if I was the guy who ran eWillys. My mind jumped to three things, was he a reader? Was he a stalker? Or was he someone angry at something posted? Before I was done thinking it through, my mouth was answering, “Yep, that’s me!”
Fortunately, he was a reader. His name was Bryce and it turned out he lived just a few houses down and owned a 1953 truck. I told him I’d like to see his truck sometime. Yesterday, ‘sometime’ finally arrived.
Bryce has owned this truck since the early 2000s after his mother spotted it for him. Recently, it’s needed some restoration, especially in the cab area. He’s redone the upholstery and switched the non-stock bench seat for more comfy bucket seats. He’s got a few things to finish up before it’s road ready again, but when that time comes, he said he’d come by and show it off. So more pics to come!
Chuck bought this CJ-3A just over a week ago and already got it on the trails. He shared a couple great pics of it.
He writes, “The new Willys was in its element this weekend blazing the trail – first ones in cutting and winching downed tress across the trail. I went with two Rubi TJs and kept up no problem. The Willys doing what it was meant to do and doing it exceptionally well!”
“That said, the 51 Willys wasn’t without issues. The front pumpkin was milkshake and rusty. Had to take it apart /clean. Transmission was a little milky. I just changed every single fluid in everything. It also has electrical gremlins. The battery blew up and I spent the night in a auto parts parking lot. New battery, changed the alternator from a three wire to a one wire, did some rewiring and was back on the road with just hand tools. Can’t do that with a new JK or JL! Anyway, put over 300 miles on the Jeep in three days. It was a great adventure. The Jeep did fantastic but I’ll be happy when I get a chance to rip out all the wiring and start over – it really needs it for me to feel it’s a dependable rig.”

Bob’s selling his beautiful Tux Park. It was parked across from us at 2018’s Willys Reunion in Aurora, so I had time to look it over.

“Up for sale is my 1947 Willys CJ2a. I’ve had this for a couple of years and I just don’t have time to work on it. The motor starts, runs, has good power and doesn’t smoke. It drives and stops around the yard and the 4-wheel drive works. The body is in very bad shape. Included is a second tub, hood, and fenders that are in better condition, however still needs work. The model 18 transfer case has the output for a PTO, however it isn’t hooked up. Comes with a Bill of Sale only.

Three motors are also included, they are all disassembled and have been hot tanked. Skid plate and rear bumper have been powder coated. Loveland, Colorado PM if interested 1.
