“1953 Willys 4WD Pickup. Good running classic. It is mostly original. We replaced the cracked engine block, added an electric fuel pump, went to a cartridge air filter, installed electric windshield wipers and upgraded to an 8 volt system and battery. There is an aftermarket overdrive and the engine was totally rebuilt about 8500 miles (10 years ago). There are new brakes, shocks and pitman. The transmission leaks and needs periodic topping off. There is a minor (nuisance) oil pan leak. The bed has been sprayed and it is a nice smooth running old Willys.”
Its not currently running.

This ad from the September 1969 issue of Four Wheeler Magazine shows the Boulder TowBarGuid, a winch that wrests atop a towbar. The same issue included a story on the winch, though not much background was provided about the company. The winch was manufactured by the Hilmer Company out of Boulder, Colorado.
This is pretty cool. An M-151 Pencil sharpener.

“2 wheel drive, automatic transmission, old mail Jeep. Steering wheel on right hand side of jeep. NO TITLE. Jeep was cranked and ran a few years ago. Has been sitting for a few years.”
The body work on this appears well done. It’s got some non-jeep rims on it. I’m wondering if those front rims have been enlarged so that the rims would fit over the hubs.

“1946 willys cj2a jeep. Original motor runs perfectly. Rebuilt carter carb. New radiator. Completely new or rebuilt brake system. Rebuilt transmission rebuilt transfer case. Rebuilt axle seals and bearings. Runs drives shifts and stops as it did in 1946. Completely street legal and registered for on road use. Body and frame are completely solid and have no rust! No bondo! No filler of any kind. Lots of welding has been done over the last 70 years. It’s not always pretty but it is completely solid. Tires are also new. It’s not a perfect original but it’s a completely solid good running repaired original willys. If your interested send me a message and we can talk. I’ll possibly consider trades but not sure what. Certainly no jet skis atvs or small passenger cars.”

Longtime readers remember that we purchased a DJ-3A that we named Rusty in September of 2016 in anticipation of our Alaska trip in the summer of 2017. A buyer on the East Coast recently purchased that DJ-3A and has paid us to trailer it to him. He’s getting a good deal on Rusty, while we are getting our costs for a road trip covered. It’s a win-win.
Unlike our normal tours, we plan to drive straight to our destination, then pretty much turn around and head back, though our return route will take us north with a goal of stopping at Glacier National Park, a place I’ve yet to see. Our goal is only to be gone about two weeks (rather than our usual 6-8 weeks).
