“Jeep dj5a Runs, drives Message with any questions Not 4×4 Unknown mileage”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000.
This is an ex-fire truck. It may need some engine work.
“truck has 9000 miles, was a fire truck.
has small holes for roof lights, and switches
rust free, very original
still has factory grease marks on axels
was yellow, then repainted red.
the “cage” on the back is just set there, for my puppies, it comes right off
This jeep runs and drives, however it has spun a bearing. The distributor was never oiled, and it siezed one day here at the farm. THe distributor runs the oil pump, and when we towed it to the shop, and fixed the problem, it has a very distinctive knock in the lower end.
There is no smoke, it was not run this way. It does start and run.”
Here’s a good story of a man named Robert Sines who bought an M-38A1, wrote a story about it on Kaiser Willys’ website, then donated the check he received for the story to his local American Legion Post 66.

Bobbie Howard makes waterproof key chains with Willys insignias. I asked some Facebook readers about them and they all said the product was a good one. They cost $10 and include free shipping. At this point, it looks like she only works from Facebook, so you’ll need a FB account to order them.

That looks miserably cold.

This appears to have a VEC CJ-2A body, but it is listed as a 1949. It also has an early grille and it’s a column shift.

UPDATE: As Rob points out in the comments, this is a 1942, not a 1943.
This GPW is was recently bought and now is being resold. It’s in good shape, though it lacks some correct details.
https://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/d/christiana-1943-ford-gpw-jeep-willys/6937732243.html
“Up for sale is a 1943 Ford GPW with “Willys Jeep” L134 Go Devil engine. I recently purchased this vehicle with the idea of leisurely traveling around town/country side. However, after taking my wife out in it a few times, she’s not “in to it”. Minimal safety features and people into their phones more than driving have given her reservations about about setting foot in it again. Listed below is a description and history.
Bought recently from a man in Franklin, Tn. He had it for 2-3 years and drove it infrequently, stating that he might have put 40 miles or so on it. It mainly sat in his large garage. It was professionally restored not long before he purchased it, approximately 4-5 years ago. It starts, runs, drives, and shifts nicely. Has numerous and desirable “F stamps” scattered about. The authentic-looking oil pressure gauge is inaccurate so I have a universal gauge to show the oil pressure is good. A few blemishes scattered, but looks great. Everywhere you drive, heads turn. I hate to sell it, as I have always wanted one, but wife wants it “gone”. Videos can be sent if requested.”
Seller will trade or sell for $400.
https://newlondon.craigslist.org/pts/d/old-lyme-willys-cj-2a/6929196951.html
“Willys CJ2A parts Jeep. Not a picked thru pile of parts. This is a 80% complete Jeep (no tub) that I bought as a restoration project but then found a better candidate. The engine freely rotates and the jeep includes all major components (axles, transmission, gauges, etc…)
TRADE for a usable set of 5 Willy’s wheels and tires (you’ll get the wheels and tires that are on this Jeep).
Or, I’ll take 5 useable tires (without the rims), but you’ll have to remove the old wheels off the Jeep and leave them.
Or, $400 for everything (not including the wheels).
Or, come at me with a reasonable trade offer and I just might say yes (but, no, I don’t want your Ferrari so don’t even try).”
No pics provided. Sounds like seller has a couple non running jeeps and other parts.

I don’t know what it was about Friday, but through the course of our 14 hour drive from Great Falls, Montana, to Pasco, Washington, we encountered more rude drivers and more poor driving than we had over the rest of our trip. Maybe it was something about Friday and the weekend, but people just had no patience.
We began the day at 5:30am. Our goal was to get to Glacier National Park before the crowds arrived. We reached the eastern entrance at 8:00am, but by then the eastern visitor’s center was already packed solid. So, rather than linger, we began our trek across the Going to the Sun Road. Here are some pics from Glacier:
The seller puts the date at 1954, which is clearly incorrect as the FC didn’t exist yet.
UPDATE: This may have sold. It was listed for about $2600 on the Swedish site https://www.blocket.se.
Oscar shared this FC for sale in Sweden. It only has about 1000 miles on it!
He wrote, “It has been used by the Swedish HWY maintenance dept. and it was common that these vehicles had very low miles. 4 owners only and fairly low price, SEK 25.000 which is about $2.600”
Oscar shared this FC with what I assume is a custom bed.

Jay shared this GPW. It will need a little work before it runs.
