This is the first time I’ve seen a pick-axe mounted in the bow holders. The jeep isn’t quite all original. I’m not sure how the trailer and jeep are matching numbers, but maybe I am misunderstood the first sentence.

On Friday we drove through two National Parks, then headed for Concord, California. On Saturday, we let Roadside America be our guide.
Friday’s trip from Tulare to Clayton, California.
Late Thursday night we had planned to stay in Exeter, but the lower prices in Tulare (plus my sudden realization that I was tired) convinced us to find a close motel after our visit with Chuck. The downside of this plan meant that we had to wake up at 5am if we wanted to reach Sequoia National Park at a reasonable time.
Thus, before the sun broke over the Sierra’s on Friday, we left for a 90 minute trip to see the largest organism (by volume), the mighty General Sherman Tree (a Sequoia). By the time we reached the park’s entrance, we had enough light to take a photo:
From that point, we climbed 7,000 ft on a tight, twisting road that never got over 35 mph. It’s a slow grind uphill that even caused our jeep to get slightly warm; yet it’s also a very pretty drive and, better, there were no vehicles in front of us. By the time we reached the top of the hill, the temperature had dropped to 39 degrees, which was chilly for two people dressed for 80 degree weather.
But, no matter the temperature, we were going to see that tree! So, we put on a couple layers and began a short walk to the tree. Part of the trail went through a fallen Sequoia. As you can see, they are pretty thick!
Finally, we reached the General Sherman Tree. I’ve seen taller Redwoods, but this tree was quite thick and stubby all the way up it. Continue reading

“1954 Willys CJ3B 4×4 2nd year with the Hurricane, overhead valve motor. It has the flat fenders and taller hood. The previous owner had the motor rebuilt and the body is good. It has new seat covers, new water pump, electronic ignition, electric fuel pump, lock-out hubs and good tires.
There are seat belts for 4 and it’s street legal.

(02/20/2019) Has some floor patches, but looks like a solid parade jeep.
“This is a 1942 Willys MB Jeep. This Jeep has been converted to a 12 Volt electrical system from the original 6 Volt system. It is an older restoration – please see the pictures for details. In the past it has had some body work done and floor repairs were done with sheet metal. The wiring in this Jeep needs some work and it could us a canvas makeover.
Since this is an older restoration most of the parts on this vehicle are original on this vehicle like the wheels and rifle rack.
This MB is in good driving condition – Perfect for someone starting in the military vehicle hobby or wanting a nice parade vehicle. Comes with all accessories pictured. The pedestal is a homemade pedestal with original .50 Cal’ Cradle.”

Described as “Fully and professionally restored Army Jeep”, it isn’t either (not fully ‘restored’ and not an Army Jeep). That said, it looks like there was a great deal of work done on this. The serial number suggests it is a 1947.

“Clearing out my garage before winter. Up for sale is a complete rolling chassis from a 1957 Willys Jeep CJ3B. Basically it’s the frame, front/rear diffs with wheels, suspension. There is NO motor, although I do have the original transmission/transfer case combo as well as the drive shafts. I was planning on doing an engine swap, so I also have an Isuzu 1.8L diesel as well as the Isuzu MUA5 manual transmission/transfer case. I went through the entire engine and also resealed/ repainted it. I have a new starter for the diesel engine as well. I also have a set of front/rear narrow track diffs from a CJ5 for it too. As for other parts from the CJ3B I have: the hood, front grille/radiator, seat frames, some electrical parts, gauges, fuel tank, lighting and some other miscellaneous parts. Selling everything together for $500. If you are interested in certain parts separately, let me know.”
