“1948 Willys Jeep in good shape needs restoration and would make a great project. Has clear title. Was running when parked 15 years ago. $3200.00”
This is rough. It might have Allstate or Husky hubs. The windshield is either missing the soft top channel or it’s a DJ-3A convertible windshield. Has a flathead.

“1942 Willy’s MB Jeep As shown, not running. Needs work to finish up. Was told the motor was rebuilt when I bought it. I have no time to finish it so time to sell it. Can provide plenty of photos. Have serial number tag for frame. No title/bill of sale provided. Might consider trade/cash deal for nice gas golf cart.”
Jerry Huber shared this news: The “Jeep Experience” is expected to open in 2022. Per WTOL, a station out of Toledo, “A $40 million project is coming to Toledo that promises an immersive, interactive experience in all things Jeep. The Jeep Experience will be 56,000 square feet, with an outdoor test track and aims to reach Jeep lovers worldwide.”
I’ve had a couple Willys-oriented Christmas cards come my way, thanks to Bob and Tim, so I thought I’d share them. I can’t believe it is already the 18th!
On November 4th, 1947, the Wilmington Morning Star published an ad highlighting a Willys-Overland Caravan visit at Bellamy Farm. The ad was sponsored by the Fleming Company (Or it may have been the Fleming Willys Company).
This cartoon appeared in the short lived Apache Sentinel on October 22, 1943. It is a very Bantam-BRC looking jeep.
Has new floor panels. Needs some finishing.

“Freshly restored 1949 CJ Jeep. The Jeep was taken apart, painted and re assembled. As far as we know, the motor and drive train is original. All new wiring, fuel tank, fuel lines, brake lines, wheels, tires, seat covers, gauges. New floor pan welded in. It runs and drives great, will start up first try. Has a cooler rack on the back.
It does not have a windshield, needs front blinkers, all new fluids in the drive train. Come test driving it make an offer. Would be a perfect lease vehicle or to cruise around town in. $6500 but open to offers. No title, cash talks. Please come get this out of my shop.”
I get no joy in pointing out problematic ad, but this one made me shake my head more than usual. This low mileage jeep already has a gas stain running down the side. Phrases like “Fully military spec’d” and “Very authentic” make it all the worse. Finally, it’s listed as a 1945 (to the sellers credit, it is labeled an Army Jeep Tribute), when the serial number (which the builder used as the hood number also) clearly indicates it is a 1947.

“Fully and professionally restored Jeep in excellent condition! Only driven 520 miles since completed and completely turn-key. Fully military spec’d with rear seat, jerry can, Army spec paint, military tread tires, tools and more. Fold down windshield, canvass upholstery (no top), 4×4. Rebuilt engine, runs, drives, steers and stops very well with no issues of any kind. This is a super fun vehicle that is great for display, parades, shows or Jeep events. Very authentic, southern Jeep that needs nothing but a new owner. Comes with service manual and large roll of canvass material. All reasonable offers will be considered but no trades please. Come take a look and let’s deal!”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $8500.

I can’t remember who share this news, but the Whitco brand is being used once more as a soft top brand by Quadretec for YJ, TJ, JK and JKU Wrangler soft tops. Unfortunately, it does not appear that they will offer vintage tops under this brand.
Seems worth a look at this price.

“Here’s a nice family owned CJ 2 that has good structure mainly due to being inside a garage for a long time. The engine was pulled for a rebuild and that’s where it sat until I acquired it. The parts Jeep has had a little ruffer life passing thru many hands but appears to have a good engine in it as the previous owner was still making up grades to it. It was and still is holding antifreeze in it so I sure the motor is still good. Have a title as well…….
Christmas price drop……don’t need the money as much as could use the extra space…..and my attention could be directed else where hint hint…..not wanting to separate as I will put them together as I have time away from other distractions….
The 75th anniversary of D-Day is next June 2020 – if your not in tune with early CJ2’s.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $300.
