This March 27, 1943, photo and article in the San Pedro News Pilot describe a big event at a Cabrillo Avenue School in San Pedro. Enough money was raised to warrant jeep rides at the school. I can imagine that must have left some memories with those kids!
UPDATE: Price dropped to $4250.
(11/07/2019) Appears worth a look.

This has a center seat, early Free-Lock hubs, and a hardtop that I thought was a Koenig, but for which I can find no documentation. Note the way it connects to the side of the cowl. I’ve seen others, but can’t find brochures for this. Someone one suggested it might be a Western top, but I have not documentation on those either.

“No paperwork. Jeep has been setting for 20 years. It took a bit to the front. Frame is repairable. Trans to transfer case is broken but might be repairable.”
This might be a Jeepster Convertible (rather than the Jeepster Commando).

“1968 Jeepster Comando with a V8 and turbo 400 Auto trans. Runs but needs a carb rebuild and a tranny mount and a lot of TLC Currently non-op”

This is a good example of a CJ-2A chassis with a replacement body that’s being mistakenly sold as a “military jeep”.

Windows roll up and down and doors open and close all new inner handles. I have a new complete wiring harness ready for new owner to install. Headlights work both hi and low. “Great island car. Jeep starts and runs. there is a knock in the engine that just started.”
The engine fires on this creation. Looks like a 3B hood on a CJ-5 grille with a CJ-2A windshield?

“1943 Willy needs restoration or great a toy..does fire up..cranked it a few weeks ago..”

Body is in “great condition”?
“Rare find willys jeep cj2a flat fender WWII style civilian jeep. Body is in great condition for its age. The stories it could tell. Had a motor swap done at some point in its life and was upgraded to the higher output f4 hurricane 4 cylinder. I installed 2″ lift shackles and 33/10/15 super swamper tires. Also has roll bar and some extra lights. Right now it is not starting and needs fuel tank, battery, cap and rotor. Was running and driving just couple years ago. I’ve owned it since 2008 and hate to let it go. Need the cash for bills and car repairs”
