This jeep has a few interesting mods. For example, a small modded-item holds the radiator in place using the holes from the grille’s footman loop. Or, I can’t remember seeing a power brake setup with a clutch master cylinder mounted to the unit like this one (is that custom, aftermarket, or out of something?). New steel tub creates a CJ2 style Jeep atop a 1942 frame. Complete frame off was performed during it’s restoration and modification. Chrome accessories detail the body with plated hinges, latches, light rings and custom fit bumpers. Frame is reported as fully powder-coated. Soft-top canvas covers the interior and is reported to be in good shape, just not a perfectly tight fit. We finish with bead-lock styled one-piece aluminum rims and Wild Country off-road radials. “The remnants of lettering on the driver’s door indicate that this particular truck belonged to a bricklayer early in its life. I assume that the bricklayer bought this truck with the intent of installing the flat bed because adding the flat bed to the factory overload springs in the rear would have been ideal for hauling building materials. It also appears that they improved the roadability of this truck by replacing the original 4.88:1 gears in the axles with 4.27:1 gears that were available many years ago but have since been discontinued. Jeep enthusiasts agree that is why this truck has so many miles on it while other FC’s did not.

The manual locking hubs in this vehicle were obtained from Sears & Roebuck, which sold automobile parts in their catalogs from sometime in the 1950’s into the 1970’s.

In poking around the truck some, I have determined that it wore red and white paint at one point in time. Otherwise, it seems that a youngster got ahold of this truck, did an extremely poor job of installing a 4-inch lift kit, and promptly took this truck off-roading where they ran it up onto something. Whoever this was did an equally poor job of trying to replace the radiator and an even worse job of fixing the broken steering.

I have since replaced the sector shaft, pitman arm, drag link and bellcrank with the later, upgraded versions which I obtained from Harry and Jo at Midwest Willys. I also installed the shift plate underneath the cab while I had the shifter assembly out for new rubber bushings.

The truck does not run at this time. However, I have pulled in a new wiring harness from Walcks that I never finished installing. I still have the instructions for this harness and they will be included.

The truck is an ugly survivor with a broken rear window. All of the other glass is good and I put some used tires on it during the summer of 2021 as the old bias-ply tires finally gave up.

I hate to see it go, but, life seems to be taking a turn and I do not think I can give it the time, effort and attention that it deserves.

I am asking $3,500.00 and that is a firm price for an old beast that comes with a title.”

“I have some old willys Jeep parts for sale. I have a tub, hood, fenders, grille, and windshield from a ‘52 Cj3a. The tub is in pretty rough condition on one side. The fenders aren’t rusty but have a couple grinder cuts in them. The grille is ok. The hood is ok. The windshield frame is pretty good. It would be good for a woods buggy or you can use the windshield frame, hood and grille for your project.
I also have a transmission, transfer case and a set of axles, Dana 25 and Dana 41 from a ‘48 cj2a. The transmission and transfer case will need rebuilding. The axles have a rare set of locking hubs on them, there were a few different types of locking hubs for these jeeps. Also comes with an old ford inline 6 engine. Needs rebuilding
$500 for all of it. Must take it all. I can help you load it onto your trailer.

The pictures are older pictures. The tub is off of the frame now.”

AMC 304 V8 engine:
Engine was professionally built in Phoenix Oregon. Engine has been balanced, blueprinted, line honed, decked, slabbed, ported, and polished. Bored 10 over. TRW flat top pistons have been fly cut for the proper valve relief. Heads are the highly sought after and coveted pre smog 3196291C small chamber with the dog leg ports. Original factory heads were 58.92 cc with 1.625/2.025 valves. These heads have been professionally reworked per the American Motors “Performance American Style” guide to high performancing AMC engines (original AMC book included). Heads are the 291C 50.60 cc with balanced chambers. Original factory compression ratio was about 7.2:1 Flat top pistons and the small chamber heads now put this engine slightly over 10.4:1. Rods were all balanced and shot peened.Cam is a 274 duration .500 lift hydraulic

This 1982 Mitsubishi Jeep J37 is a gas-powered, right-hand-drive 4×4 station wagon that was purchased by a serviceman while stationed in Japan and imported to Texas in May 2018 then sold to the current owner and is now titled in Florida.
