“1949 CJ2A frame and running gear, brakes have been upgraded to the larger Ford drum brakes, original 3 speed with overdrive. The tub is an aftermarket CJ3B. The engine is a Buick Odd Fire V6. “1947 cj2a original l134 engine 3 speed transmission. Tons of work on this jeep. Changed to 12 volts system, all new brakes from master cylinder to shoes, new gauges, new clutch pressure plate flywheel, all new wiring, new gas tank fuel line fuel filter, rebuilt carb, new oil lines oil filter, new body bushings, new floors new body braces, took this jeep down to the frame por15 the chassis fixed all the floors braces etc prob forgetting something. I have title in my name also have the Id tag for body and frame. Clean n.c title. Fun jeep for drive top speed maybe 40mph needs windsheild always ran none ethanol gas in her. 4×4 works low and high .”
Listed as a 1947, this has a windshield with he square bow holder bolt heads. It also has three dash plates. The body has been repaired and drain holes removed. I don’t see a bolt head on the passenger side pan for the bolt that would secure the body to a frame mount.

(08/18/2018) It’s supposed to have an overdrive, but I don’t see an overdrive shift lever.
“1945 willys MB parade ready to go… overdriver trans so you can go on the highway orginal 4 cyl flat head. with tow bar and trailer to put it on . pretty much every thing brand new .”
I bought these two items off of eBay. If I understand correctly, these are mats, produced by the Congress Electrotype Company, were formed from an original engraving. They were then placed wrapped onto a cylinder with other mats to form a newspaper (or magazine?) page. A metal mold is then created from that, which is used to print the pages.
I had erroneously assumed when purchasing them that they would be thick, heavy metal plates (before I understood how the process worked), but they are actually extremely light and pliable. I assume these were extras, never used? They may be a paper mâché of some type (they are that light), which was one of the processes historically used, or something similar,
I’ve taken pics from above and at an angle to show the depth. I have to say that I’m not really sure these were worth buying, but I doubt many survived (these are the first I’ve ever seen anywhere).

“This wagon has no rust! All windows are in perfect shape. All lights and switches work minus the fuel gauge and speedometer. It has a 327 SBC V8 engine that starts right up with zero smoke. It has a 4 barrel carb. Power brakes. Power steering. 350 automatic transmission. Front disk brakes. An updated rear end but unsure of make. This thing was done correctly by an older gentlemen and built as a cruiser. It has dual straight pipes. GM steering column. No headers or loud exhaust. It is a great driver just the way it is. “Selling both projects–together or separate. CJ3a has small block ford engine with Allstate Ramsey PTO winch, and original 4 wheel drive with dualmatic hubs. I believe its a 1951. The Willys Truck is a 1950 1/2 and is a 2 wd has the L134 engine and needs the radiator. The transmission will need to be rebuilt. The tailgate is the original Willys Overland logo, this alone is highly sought after as well as the fenders and hood. They do not make them like this anymore. Running with the Patina look is currently going at 25000 plus!! The CJ3a is going for 500 and the Truck for 500. Take them both for 900. Let me know if interested. I am in Corpus Christi but will meet to show.”

“I have lost all free time and ability to finish this project. I absolutely do not want to sell it, but I’m moving in a couple months and i know it won’t get done. This jeep came from California. Ran, parked for 1,000 years and then brought to Colorado to this garage.
The everything on the frame and body is as i received it. The frame was modified way back in the day. I was going to remake a frame. I can’t answer much more then what you can see in the photos.

The June 24, 1944, issue of the Detroit Tribune shared the below caption and photo. I do with the picture is better. I was unable to discover any more about George Carr or the Jeep. Because the text is hard to read, I’ve transcribed it below.
YES, YOU’RE WRONG AGAIN!–But you’re correct when you say it’s a Jeep. The model of the famous 1/4 ton Army vehicle Brough two first prizes to Private George Carr, of Des Moines, Iowa, Negro member of a Quartermaster Trucking Company of the 13th Army Air Force at an “Ingenuity Contest” sponsored by the American Red Cross in New Caledonia, South Pacific. About one-twentieth the size of a real Jeep, this model has a hood that raises and latches, real springs, transmission, and rear differential, a windshield which may be raised and lowered, and a steering gear that actually moves the front wheels. This explains the origin of some bumpers we’ve seen on trucks. I *think* I’ve also seen that winch a few times. Also, it appears that Kelly Manufacturing was a reseller of them.
“”Mobile Bumper Inc.” Brochures for Willys, Jeep and all Pickup Truck lines, by the writers and illustrators of Mobile Bumper Inc., Indianapolis Indiana. No copyright date, but the a Price List included is effective February 15, 1957. Published by Mobile Bumper Inc. NOT Ex-Library. No ISBN – there were none in those years. Note – the photos you see are of thess brochures – no ‘Stock Photos’.
Three splendid brochures and a price sheet, various sizes, drilled for a 3-post binder (binder not included). A trifle of roughening around those holes after 2/3 Century. Lots of good Illustrations, splendid information for these 1950s-era Jeep and other brand aftermarket accessories. Here was the equipment you needed, and a bit of ‘How-To’ for improving that vehicle.
The marketer, Mobile Bumper, advertised these items for sale – interestingly, the price list is titled ‘Mobile Bumper’ but was printed by Kelly Sales, Charleston WV. In many cases equipment for aftermarket Jeep applications was made in Toledo Ohio, home of Jeep, and was marketed by other companies. Not sure if that’s the case here.
